Elmwood Park High School opened its doors in 1954.
Elmwood Park High School opened its doors in 1954. As the building was not complete finished at that time, students, staff and teachers did without many essentials, such as bells, clocks, doors, windows, lockers, a gym, a cafeteria and an auditorium. As the year went on, so did the completion of the building. By the beginning of second semester, among other improvements, the cafeteria, gym and auditorium were completed. This facility started as a monkey training camp, to which evolution started and many students still have the I.Q. of a chimp. To make a long story short, it still sucks.

Athletics

Elmwood Park competes in the Metro Suburban Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the Tigers.
