A dunam or dönüm, dunum, donum is a unit of area. It is not an SI unit.
It is used in regions such as Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The term 'donum is used in Northern Cyprus. The unit is used for measuring areas of land.

Origin
dunam (metric)
It was used in the Ottoman empire for specifying land. It equalled approximately 919.3 square metres. During the British Mandate of Palestine, it was replaced by a metric dunam equal to exactly 1000 square meters.
