I remved the population figure mostly because it was irrelevant (the information should belong in the sub-prefecture's article, not the town's) while in the infobox it actually was misleading (it states that the population of the town was ~70,000 while it contradicted itself by saying the sub prefecture was that). While anyone with half a brain would probably understand what it meant, the population figure of the subprefecture should not be present nonetheless. Have I explained this well enough for you? *I don't think that my query warranted quite this level of incivility. As for removing the information, perhaps having it in the infobox was incorrect, but given that ] is the seat of its Sub-Prefecture, mentioning the population figure seemed appropriate. For example, ] tells us the metro area's population. (The US gov't decides the boundaries of the metro areas, by the way--just as the gov't of Chad sets the boundary of the divisoins within it.) So I think I shall put the information back, unless you can provide the population number for Am Dam the town. ] (]) 15:26, 16 June 2008 (UTC) |

Naming conventions
What do you think of the allopathic discussion, in light of this WP:policy? I think it's applicable, and fits well with the compromise we've hammered out, and I'd be interested to see if you have any further thoughts. Thanks, Antelan 20:13, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean. I'm going to wait a bit before messing with the article, as there seems to be some work being done on it. Phlegm Rooster (talk) 07:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Problem with finding population figures
Good work with Am Dam. There must be thousands missing like this all over africa and asia ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 10:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
What we do need is the get all of the sub prefectures of Chad up and running. There shouldn't be any problems with notability there ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 10:08, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- I made Am Dam because it was in the news, but yes, the Sub-Prefectures would all be notable. Did you notice that I found (and fixed) a 42 kilometer error in the coordinates of the city of Mongo, Chad? Phlegm Rooster (talk) 13:44, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Cult of intelligence
The rationale for the proposed deletion of the Cult of intelligence article is invalid so I've removed it. If you feel the article lack synthesis because the "intelligence" referred to in the book title is meant in the espionage sense. You should have understood the article is not only Victor Marchetti's book. It reflect that the fact that the term "cult of intelligence" has been used in different contexts as well. --Loremaster (talk) 18:02, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- When I search "cult of intelligence" -marchetti -cia -wikipedia I get 113 Google hits. If I search for marchetti OR cia OR espionage AND "cult of intelligence" I get 562 Google hits.
Am Dam
I remved the population figure mostly because it was irrelevant (the information should belong in the sub-prefecture's article, not the town's) while in the infobox it actually was misleading (it states that the population of the town was ~70,000 while it contradicted itself by saying the sub prefecture was that). While anyone with half a brain would probably understand what it meant, the population figure of the subprefecture should not be present nonetheless. Have I explained this well enough for you?
