"Ghetto"
Song

"Ghetto" is a single by Akon. Released in late 2004 and officialy in early 2005, it reached No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is a cut off Akon's debut album Trouble. There are three remixes of this song: An International Remix featuring Ali B & Yes R, two Dutch-Moroccan rap artists (#3 in the Netherlands); one featuring 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G.; and one with lyrics of 2pac's "Ghetto Gospel" lyrics. There is also another Reggaeton remix with Tego Calderón.

The song's lyrics describe the cycle of poverty experienced by those living in poor, inner-city areas. Additionally, it describes the physical and psychological oppression with which these residents must deal on a regular basis.
