Julian Sands was born in Otley, Yorkshire on 4 January, 1957. He has been in films such as The Killing Fields, A Room with a View, Gothic, Warlock, Arachnophobia, and Boxing Helena.
He has been twice married, first to the journalist Sarah Sands (they divorced in 1987 in a marriage yielding one son, Henry Sands who was an Officer in the Irish Guards and is currently at Edinburgh University), and secondly to the writer Evgenia Citkowitz in 1990.
