Jesenský (also Jessensky, Jessinsky, Jessensky de Gross Jessen) were a family of old Hungarian nobility of Slavonic origin.

First mentioned was Michael Jessensky, 1274 in Turiec. Ladislav Jesenský died 1526 in the battle of Mohacs. All Jesenský property was confiscated by the Osmans; brothers Melchior, Lorenz and Balthasar Jesenský moved to Silesia and lived in Wroclaw and Swidnica. Balthasar's son was Ján Jesenský, known as Jan Jesenius, famous scientist and polititian who lived in Prague, Bohemia.

Branches of family are still living in Slovakia and Bohemia.
