The cleanup page is a place where articles with problems (ungrammatical, poorly formatted, confused, etc.) can be listed. Any user can fix or list articles here.

Older cleanup: Category:Cleanup by month. Pages are archived by month, but are still in need of cleanup (or de-listing if they have already been cleaned up).

For a listing of ongoing discussions,
see the dashboard.

If you are here because you have found a page that needs attention, you are encouraged to be bold and edit the page yourself to fix the problem. If for some reason you don't have the expertise to fix the problems yourself, for example because you don't know enough about the relevant subject, you can request the attention of other editors as follows:

  1. Check "Resources for maintenance and collaboration" an inset text box on the right, to make sure there is not a more appropriate page on which to list the article.
  2. Add the most specific applicable tag to the article or its talk page (note that having a cleanup tag will be distracting for readers, so only add them to articles if there is a good reason). See Cleanup resources. For general problems, use {{cleanup-date|September 2005}}.
  3. Add your listing under today's date (UTC). Create a new section if yours is the first listing of the day.
  4. Explain what needs to be done in a brief but specific manner in the article's talk page. (Keep in mind not everyone who sees the cleanup tag on the article will see your central listing.)
  5. Sign your name, date and time by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ )
  6. Also remember that you can submit an article in need of cleanup to the Cleanup Taskforce (which is always looking for members).

As far as I can tell, "Patriarch of All Romania" is a title, but this article seems to be just about the present incumbent. I suggest renaming this article after the name of the person in question (if anyone can work out what it is). If there is sufficient info then the "Patriarch of all Romania" article could remain to describe the post in general, but this might be unnecessary as there is already an article "Romanian Orthodox Church" where such info could very well go (for example, there is already a list of patriarchs). I would do this but I am so ignorant of the subject it would be better for someone else to do it! - Matt
I don't see why this is a "cleanup" request. It should be a "someone please write an article about this" request if there is such a thing. - Matt
In case there was another article on the subject and "two minutes left in the library session" (g). Will put it on a more appropriate list. JS
I question the value of this article as it stands at the moment. - Matt

This article didn't look too bad to me. I have reorganised it a bit, and added some new headings and stuff. The "countries with Burger King restaurants" section seems a little OTT, but I suppose there's nothing wrong with it. Someone who better understands Misplaced Pages's arcane formatting syntax could possibly lay it out it a little better so it doesn't take up such a huge amount of space. - Matt

I took a stab at this and got partway through 'food' and couldn't do any more. I might be able to give it a look later, but it's giving me a headache. Hopefully I didn't do more harm than help. BCampbell 15:41, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
I'm doing a little here and there, this is one huge mass of text. I added ToC tags to the sectionlabels, hopefully that will make cleanup a little easier. I also bulleted the references and wikified the links there. Still needs a ton of work, including (IMHO) some reorganization and trimming. I'll keep doing small bits as I can. KillerChihuahua 19:02, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
_ _ The "History/Major Events" alone section is 57 kB, and clearly needs further subdivision. There's nothing wrong with using the multilevel capability of our hdg system: putting
=== Foo ===
in that section will start one subsection within it. But getting some subsections is just a stopgap. The article needs to eventually become at least 4 sub-32 kB articles (unless, as is possible, massive deletions of 'graphs are appropriate).
I concur. The section titles were already there, but w/out the ='s. I just added the ='s in order to chunk the article into more manageable segments. I have limited time for editing and tend to do little bits as I find time. Hopefully this will help encourage others to trim and edit also, as the chunks are less intimidating than the whole mess. I see TheMadBaron has already started on "food." As I said earlier, the article IMHO needs massive trimming and a re-org. I just cannot spend the time necessary to do this all at once. It looks like most of the edits so far have been minor trimming, wikifying, grammatical corrections. This one is going to take a lot of work to get to manageable size, and I have no problem with that happening in small doses. KillerChihuahua 12:23, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

Created Pick (disambiguation), which also needs cleanup. TheMadBaron 10:05, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

  • Parc, New York appears to be a computer generated town article. And it completely misses the point. It's not a town named Parc; it's a business development organization named PARC (Plattsburgh Airbase Redevelopment Corporation) that's trying to attract new industries to the site of a closed Air Force base. I don't know enough details to rewrite the article, but somebody should get it back on track. MK2 01:32, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
  • Epigenesis (creative intelligences) - questionable tone and perspective; previously written using occasional all-caps.
  • Involution (philosophy) - possibly overenthusiastic capitalization.
  • Middle-market: Poorly formatted. And talks only of middle-market newspapers - the term could almost certainly be applied to other things as well. -- Smjg 09:28, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
  • Landscape: Needs an overhaul for content and expression - introductory sentence is appalling. Also could do with a better disambig for landscape orientation. -dmmaus 04:06, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
Made a start on this. See "Landscape" talk page for explanation.
I've expanded the article and made edits based on Jerzy's stylistic comments. Yes, he's my grandfather. However, I think he is also clearly far, far above WP's threshold for notability.--Bcrowell 22:42, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
I've deleted the cleanup tag. In my opinion, the article was never in need of a cleanup in the first place, but I've tried to make the kinds of style changes requested by Jerzy. Jerzy has also raised questions about notability; if I haven't satisfied him on that point, then he could initiate an afd process.--Bcrowell 20:44, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

Had a go at this, and removed cleanup tag.

  • The various entries for the lists of Orthodox Patriarchs could be updated (and lists of popes cross referenced)
  • Interior design 1950's — I don't know what to do with this. It's a (signed) POV essay, and could be nominated for AfD as such, but it does contain some useful, NPOV information. It needs to be renamed, of course, since the "1950's" is not Misplaced Pages style (and incorrect). Chick Bowen 15:25, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
The apostrophe is correct style in general, although perhaps not accepted WP style.--Bcrowell 20:48, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

  • Quark City -- Text is copied directly from company page. It looks like an advertisement. AfD candidate? Stezton 09:19, 15 September 2005
Obvious AfD candidate, and now tagged as such. TheMadBaron 19:19, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
  • Scottish Cringe - Created about six months ago as an ethnic insult by an anon. A couple of good attempts to clean it up have me hesitating about AfD, but they don't seem to have changed it much. Also irregular capitalisation of course. Andrewa 01:06, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
See Talk:Scottish Cringe before doing anything hasty. Tearlach 01:55, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
Exactly why I listed it here (and see the comments that I put on the talk page before listing it here). Thanks for your input. Andrewa 21:19, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

September 14, 2005

I sifted through & corrected typos, punctuation & grammar, and changed some phrasing to more objective tone (i.e. "player" instead of "you"). Hope this helps. I'm impressed by the work that went into this article, btw. Her Pegship 00:33, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

September 13, 2005

I took a stab at this, reformatting the features under a "gameplay" heading and rewriting. It could use another look, some more information, and some external links -- the one there was to a review on an obscure website. Couldn't find an official Mario Party site. BCampbell 15:16, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
Copyedited, wikified, and reformatted. There was a lot of seemingly nonsensical conjecture I culled; it would be preferable for an expert to evaluate and reinsert.--Icenine0 03:34, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

  • Egg yolk - Expansion and structure. Lots of structure.

I finished cleaning and merging the disparate parts with egg (food) and made it parallel with structure of egg white. reordered and changed headings in all three pages. Added food stubs Snafflekid 09:04, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

Technically wouldn't it have been more proper to slap a copyvio notice over it? I suppose it's ok now since it's been totally rewritten, but the old article consisted of nothing but one sentence that outright listed the copyright it was violating. If that doesn't call for a copyvio notice, I don't know what does. Aquillion 07:18, 12 September 2005 (UTC)

Moved to correct spelling - dubious notability. Tearlach 11:49, 11 September 2005 (UTC)

  • Muse (band) - Needs a HEAVY copy-edit, I've taken a quick look at it but couldn't finish! All information seems accurate and while there are grammatical faults it's the style that really seems to be in need of redress. Jezze 22:41, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

NB - you'll find the text elsewhere online, but the author has agreed to copyright release. Tearlach 03:35, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
I've formatted it and rewritten the text. A lot more could be said on this topic, though. I haven't heard about half of the listed restaurants, so I don't know if they are very good examples. Further editing would be worthwhile. ManoaChild 23:31, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
  • House of Terror. Looks like significant portions of it were copied from , if not the whole thing. It reads more like a brochure, and the inclusion of prices and operating hours only makes that worse. Al 19:52, September 8, 2005 (UTC)
  • Margaret Mitchell One of the most prominent and famous American novelists. --ThomasK 16:02, September 8, 2005 (UTC)
I can't find an online source, but the central unwikified section, Margaret Mitchell#Gone With the Wind, reeks of copyvio. Tearlach 00:47, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
  • Toa - General low quality of writing. I've worked a bit on the article, but I don't know enough about the show/toys/whatever it is to be qualified to rewrite extensively. RSpeer 01:24, September 8, 2005 (UTC)
  • Durka I don't even know if this article should be kept. I need someone with more experience to look at it. -Ravedave 01:27, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be kept. I can't see that it's going anywhere. I've nominated it for speedy deletion. TheMadBaron 09:55, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
  • Stoned and toped - I don't know whether this is a local beer bash, in which case it should be deleted, or a movie (the image mentions "S&T The Movie") shown 12 times since 1999, which makes no sense. — Joe Kress 06:16, September 8, 2005 (UTC)
There's no evidence that there is any such movie. Definite candidate for deletion. TheMadBaron 10:58, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
Looks like a copyvio, even lists the source under External Links ! --81.77.19.246 17:59, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

  • Simulacrum - Starts with an old defintion, then says there's a new, more popular definition, then talks about a whole bunch of things unrelated to each other only separated by paragraphs (meaning it needs to be divided into subsections and preferably more ordered:). Kreachure 22:25, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
  • "Aviator" was moved to Aviator (film), although the page is still about pilots and the movie is at The Aviator. Aviator was then created as a disambig. The quick solution is to move the article back to its original title but as it has been edited I can't. I'm inclined anyway to move the page to Pilot (aviation) (the term aviator is a little archaic) and adding it to the disambig page, but that would then require flipping 50 links :-(. Any other suggestions? David Brooks 17:02, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
Wouldn't it be best for an administrator to restore Aviator, make Aviator (film) redirect to The Aviator, and proceed from there? -Acjelen 00:18, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
Well, that's the whole process, so long as it's done in a way that preserves the history of the page. I was just asking for the one step that I can't do myself. If Aviator is deleted, I can use the Move function. I'm voting against Pilot (aviation) now. David Brooks 01:05, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
Done; thanks to Zzyzx11. David Brooks 16:21, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
  • International Food Policy Research Institute – Title was misspelled (but now moved) in spite of being correct in the text. I suspect a copyright violation (cut-and-paste is a blessing and a curse) but couldn't find the source. Al 17:29, September 7, 2005 (UTC)
