Blackheath is a small town in New South Wales located at the top of the Blue Mountains, just west of Sydney, Australia. So named, it is thought, because of the color of the native shrubbery in the area but possibly also due to the frequently bleak weather.
The population of Blackheath is around three thousand, a large number of which are weekday residents of Sydney.
