Human settlement in EnglandMaylandsea is a village on the Dengie peninsula in the English county of Essex. The village is part of the Althorne ward of the Maldon district.
History
Remains of pottery cooking vessels from the Romano British period as well as human bone fragments are found on the Maylandsea beach. Mesolithic and Neolithic flints can also be found.
Religious sites
The local parish church is St Barnabas in the Diocese of Chelmsford. It was built in 1867.
Local amenities
There is one public house, The General Lee, on Imperial Avenue. Maylandsea Bay Sailing Club is based in the village.
The local school is Maylandsea County Primary School in Katonia Avenue .
