==Deletion vs. blanking==
When you blank a page, as you did to ], you leave an empty page that may be stumbled upon by others. Imagine someone types in "Riftwar" into Misplaced Pages, not knowing the difference between the "Riftwar Cycle" and "Riftwar Saga" (not that I know either!) and discovers that it leads him to...

...a completely blank page.

Obviously, this isn't the ideal situation, so the worst case is leaving a page blank. Better yet to either have an admin delete it or leave it as a redirect.

You may want to check out ] and ] for how-tos on requesting that pages be deleted. CSD is "Criteria for Speedy Deletion" and applies to such things as attack pages, blatantly non-notable individuals, and spam pages. AFD is "articles for deletion" and would apply if none of th CSD criteria are met. There's also pages for ], ], ], etc...

The Riftware Cycle page

For the moment, I would (as an outsider to all things Riftwar) would suggest the following:

Until information on the Cycle is released, simply have the redirect Riftwar point at the current article: Folks looking for that aren't likely looking for information on the author, and the existing page is as close as we have.

Try to work on a Riftwar Cycle page, probably in your userspace (User:Mercenary Roadie/The Riftwar Cycle perhaps?) until it's released or otherwise notable.

Once the subject of the article meets our inclusion criteria, that is, until it's got enough publicity to become a notable subject, move your proto-article to the appropriate page (using the move function, please, not cut-and-paste) and add a disambiguation page to Riftwar.

Hopefully, this would lead people to the information they want to find, which (as an encyclopedia) is our goal. :)

Thanks for all your work in making Misplaced Pages a better 'pedia! Kylu (talk) 20:09, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
