Maranatha Baptist Bible College is an independent, fundamental, Baptist college in Watertown, Wisconsin, offering a wide range of undergraduate degrees while focusing on Bible and Church Ministries, as well as graduate degrees in Biblical Studies, Biblical Counseling, and Theology.
Accreditation and memberships
Maranatha is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission - North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is a participant in the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) of the Higher Learning Commission.
The Teacher Education Department programs at Maranatha Baptist Bible College are recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for purposes of teacher certification.

History
Founded on September 14, 1968, the college was named for the Aramaic phrase maranatha, which means "Lo He Cometh" which appears in I Corinthians 16:22 in the New Testament. The college records over 3,000 graduates since its founding. Enrollment for Fall 2006 is expected to reach 900.
The school was founded by B. Myron Cedarholm, chartered by the State of Wisconsin in 1968. Arno Q. Weniger and David Jaspers have also served as Presidents of the institution. The office of President was vacant with the May 2006 resignation of Dr. David Jaspers. On April 27, 2007, Dr. Chuck Phelps was named President of the school, replacing Dr. Larry Oats, who served as interim President.
Philosophy
Maranatha’s academic philosophy combines a Bible college environment with a liberal arts focus. The school incorporates a rigorous academic program with a traditional independent fundamental Baptist philosophy. Students take 30 hours of Bible and 40 hours of liberal arts in addition to program requirements. Maranatha Baptist Bible College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, which is a member of the North Central Association. Maranatha's accreditation focuses on quality improvement throughout the entire institution.
Athletics
Maranatha competes in the NCCAA Div II and NCAA Div III. Men can compete in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, football, Soccer and Wrestling. Women can compete in Basketball, Cross Country, Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball.
