Susan Kadis (born January 11, 1953) is a Canadian Member of Parliament.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, she earned a Bachelor of Sociology from York University. She was the publisher of the local community newspaper, the Thornhill Times. She was also a school trustee in Vaughan from 1988 to 1996. From 1997, she was a city councillor. Kadis ran for the provincial Liberal nomination for the riding of Thornhill in 2003, but lost to fellow city councillor Mario Racco. In May 2004, she abandoned her position as city councillor to pursue her own agenda federally and then on July 9, 2004 she officially resigned her position as city councillor in mid-term after being elected federally on June 28, 2004.
She was elected as a Liberal candidate in the 2004 federal election in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) riding of Thornhill. During the election, she supported the government's controversial gun registry program, and supported same-sex marriage. She was elected chair of the Liberal Party's powerful GTA caucus in November 2004.
She is married and has five children.
