"Syriac people" may refer to a Syriac Christian people of Aramaic origin, living in what today is Syria, Turkey and Iraq. It may also refer to a Syriac speaking people, living in the Middle East, but also in Kerala, India.
It may also be a term used to coin in all Syriac Christians.
