Brooke Carol Wilberger (born February 20, 1985 in Fresno, California) was a student who disappeared on May 24 2004 from Corvallis, Oregon, where she was visiting her brother. A New Mexico man, Joel Courtney, has been charged with her murder but her body has never been found.

Wilberger was a freshman at Brigham Young University, she attended Elmira High School in Eugene, Oregon.

Investigation

On August 3, 2005 Joel Courtney was arrested in New Mexico for an unrelated kidnapping and sexual assault of a University of New Mexico student. Police have not elaborated further on his connection to the Wilberger case.

Sung Koo Kim, an early suspect in Brooke's disappearance, was found to have no involvement, but Kim was sentenced to 65 months in prison for crimes which only came to light while he was under investigation in the Wilberger case.
