Misplaced Pages is basically Webkinz World for grownups.

Let's see, what should I put here.

• I respond to Floquenbeam, Floq, Flo, FB, any other nickname you can think of (as long as it's not rude), or even "hey you", as long as I know from context you're talking to me.
• I'm easy to get along with (at least in real life), so please give me any constructive criticism you want; I don't get offended easily.
• That's pretty much it.

Interests

I'm a huge fan of the random article link, and I often read whenever I have a few minutes free here and there. I am an occasional lurker in Misplaced Pages space, and a voracious reader in Article space. I wish I could devote more time to actually contributing, but it’s hard to find a block of time to set aside.

I'm mostly a WikiGnome (let's be honest) WikiSloth, because I can feel slightly useful without needing long periods of uninterrupted concentration (I'm often trying to multitask in the real world while editing). So far it’s mostly:

• Repairing links to disambiguation pages (more interesting than you might think, since you need to read a little to see which link is appropriate)
• Reverting vandalism. I’m sure it will eventually become unmanageable, but I currently keep every page I edit on my watchlist, so I also revert vandalism to articles I’ve previously edited. Usually someone else gets to it first, though.
• Poking around in essentially random corners of Misplaced Pages, commenting where it seems interesting. So far I'd say 80% of my comments are at least somewhat useful, 15% harmless, and 5% probably should have been previewed one more time before being submitted. This isn't Utopia, so those are pretty good numbers.

In addition to gnoming, I'd like to eventually do something useful in the areas of:

• Structural engineering (professional interest)
• Nondestructive testing, especially acoustic emission (professional interest)
• Montessori education (I'm a parent of Montessori kids)
