It is not a conflict of interest if I am correctly removing information that is wrong. The source that the other editor continues to reference is by no means an official voice on the subject at hand. The call letters were assigned by the FCC. They were not "requested" because they fit a "Mix" brand name. The word "Mix" has been used in the slogan ("The Best Mix") at various times in the past, but it was not used at the time that the calls were assigned. Therefore, it is inaccurate to list this in the "callsign meaning" section of the infobox. In the interests of maintaining '''encyclopedic information''', I will continue to challenge any insertion of that material into the infobox. I was going to let it drop, but you've now twice insisted that I raise the issue of your conduct at ANI. I said last night that I wasn't going to do that (back when you were insisting you were going to drag me there, mind, not after you changed your mind and told me to take you there), but given your repeated demand, I think we can find a compromise. You want a spotlight, and there are other places than ANI that provide it. I have accordingly raised it at WP:WQA: - Simon Dodd { U·T·C·WP:LAW } 18:31, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

I have reverted to the last "empty" version of this page- non-free images should not be used outside of the article space. If you want to work on that stuff in your userspace, please remove the logos first. I would have removed them myself, but there were just too many. J Milburn (talk) 14:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

It's still in the history, you can view it there. I made a start on removing the images, but after several minutes, I was still only a fraction of the way down. J Milburn (talk) 22:45, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. J Milburn (talk) 23:11, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Image nomination

Notice that the line you're referring to was deleted seconds later - I just didn't see your notice and corrected the error on the spot.- Simon Dodd { U·T·C·WP:LAW } 04:21, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Re:My Sandbox2/West Virginia MetroNews‎

Yeah, sorry about that- I've found it's best to remove in every case, as, otherwise, we have a precedent. I've seen the "oh, it's just a sandbox" excuse abused too many times... Sorry for any inconvenience. J Milburn (talk) 13:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

WEIR edit

I am curious as to why you chopped that article - the information about the station's programming was referenced. Andyo2000 (talk) 14:31, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Ah, thank you. Learn something new every day. Andyo2000 (talk) 14:36, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Logos on WTGD

The reason I expanded the two images on WTGD from 100 to 200 was because I was trying to improve the article since it is a stub. Are you sure it wouldn't improve the article by expanding it?

BTW: How do you post an image on a Misplaced Pages article?-71.62.245.61 (talk) 19:09, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

RE: edit warning

Hi i'm just replying to the edit warring you had given me on my page. The reason i removed the content from that page was because it said on the page it was a copyright violation so i was removing it, i'm not new to Misplaced Pages so i know most of the guide lines quite well, so if i did do something wrong please do tell me. Cheers --Kyle1278 01:09, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Talkback July 19

Hello, Neutralhomer. You have new messages at Mlaffs's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Re: BBC News (8pm Summary)

Well, I actually created it as a redirect, but you've reminded me that I meant to do something with this article to make it meet the notability guidelines. I made a copy of the original which I planned to work on, but then went and forgot about it. I might tackle it in the next few weeks. TheRetroGuy (talk) 20:12, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

My talk page

In the past, you have raised a concern about my talk page "wizard" system. I have changed this to an FAQ-based system (User talk:Stifle/FAQs), and would appreciate your feedback at User talk:Stifle/FAQs/feedback or elsewhere. Stifle (talk) 12:02, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

New Wiki User/Old Topic

Hi there!

To preface: I am a member of an on-line "fan" community for the spoken word performer and actor Clint Catalyst. Catalyst does not participate in the forum himself-- but there are a few members there who have discussed the Misplaced Pages page that exists for him, and their trepidation in terms of contributing information to the article.

While I admit I felt a bit nervous, today I chose to become a "Wikipedian," so to speak. I reverted three edits made by a Wiki member who seems quite obsessed with the subject, as Catalyst's page has been "minimized" by him on countless occasions.

I do not wish to participate in drama (or "edit-warring"), as I'm sure you don't either. However, two of the three edits I reverted have to do with material you'd already approved: specifically, that of Contributing Authorship (and the verification/validation provided by an ISBN number).

While I live in Los Angeles, I've only met Catalyst once. It was at a reading (a dramatic reading, by the way, which is the same thing as a spoken word performance...mentioned because "Readings" were among the most recent on-slaught of information removed). At any rate, during a Q & A session thereafter, the topic of his "incredible shrinking Wiki page" was raised.

I mention this because rather than say anything negative about his Wiki-hater, he simply stated that he's grateful a page exists (for him), and that he had faith eventually everything would work itself out.

Well, I've just made a minor attempt, though fear I didn't follow the minutiae of this admittedly intimidating site. While Clint was the "catalyst" for bringing me to this site, I hope to learn how to contribute to pages of other spoken word performers in a constructive manner.

Sorry. I realize I'm rambling. It's just that--as an aspiring spoken word performer myself, I already know how difficult it is to promote a genre based on "bringing the page to life" within a culture where fewer and fewer people read books anymore. However, if language were not powerful, somehow I doubt there'd be so much "ado" about this site in general.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for making WP:NODRAMA a success!

Thank you again for your support of the Great Misplaced Pages Dramaout. Preliminary statistics indicate that 129 new articles were created, 203 other articles were improved, and 183 images were uploaded. Additionally, 41 articles were nominated for DYK, of which at least 2 have already been promoted. There are currently also 8 articles up for GA status and 3 up for FA/FL status. Though the campaign is technically over, please continue to update the log page at WP:NODRAMA/L with any articles which you worked during the campaign, and also to note any that receive commendation, such as DYK, GA or FA status. You may find the following links helpful in nominating your work:

  • T:TDYK for Did You Know nominations
  • WP:GAC for Good Article nominations
  • WP:FAC for Featured Article nominations
  • WP:FLC for Featured List nominations
  • WP:FPC for Featured Picture nominations

Again, thank you for making this event a success! --Jayron32.talk.say no to drama 02:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

3RR on Mika Brzezinski - poorly-sourced entry

You've now violated WP:3RRYou're now at 3 reverts on Mika Brzezinski. I have reported this on WP:BLPN (Nuggetboy) (talk) (contribs) 17:38, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I apologize for stating you violated the rule. I see you have to go over 3. It's been a long time since I looked at where the actual line was on 3RR. However, I did not report you at WP:AN3. The report I made was for the BLP issue on WP:BLPN. I've seen multiple opinions on whether the Daily Kos is a reliable source or not. I assure you, I don't care either way. I'm trying to apply established policy on blogs to BLP articles. And the policy on BLP is very liberal on the side of deletionism here. I still stand beside the report here. The piece needs to be better-sourced. (Nuggetboy) (talk) (contribs) 17:55, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
