== History and profile ==

The very first institute of the system was ]'s Megatrend Business School which was established 1989, and later on was the founder of all other institutes which comprise the present ''Megatrend University''.

During 1991, Megatrend Business School, together with the Technical Faculty of ] carried out the project of management graduate studies introduction. This project which was the first one of this type in South-East Europe, was financially supported by the European Union TEMPUS Fund which was specifically intended for the development of business education. This success has caused further expanding of Megatrend educational network.

In the previous educational system, institutes were missing that could provide the similar kind of knowledge. Most notable is the Faculty of Geo-economy the first institute of this kind in this part of the world.

In February 1997, Megatrend Business School has stipulated the agreement of collaboration with '']'' from ], ]. This agreement allowed students to be transferred directly from each of the schools - members of our university to the corresponding school in France, then, it made possible to interchange the students during their studies, as well as to make it possible for them to continue the studies at a postgraduate or doctor of sciences levels.

Similar agreements were stipulated with "]" from ], with '']'' from ], then, with '']'' from ], '']'' from ], ''Academy Eliteâ'' from ], ''European School of Business'', ''Rome'', ] and ''Faculty of Economics, ]'', ].

In autumn 1999, Megatrend University of Applied Sciences has become a valid member of global university network '''''NEWS''''' (''North-East-West-South''), whose members are the universities from all over the world. Also, all institutes of Megatrend University are the members of '''''EAMSA''''' (''Euro-Asia Management Studies Association''), the sole international association for management studies.

The Megatrend University (Serbian: Мегатренд универзитет / Megatrend univerzitet) is a private university located in Belgrade, Serbia. It was founded in 1989 and is organized into 19 institutions.

Since its founding, the University has educated more than 12,000 bachelors, around 120 magisters, 20 masters (since 2007.), and 60 doctors.
