Marcia Mitzman Gaven (born February 28, 1959) is a Tony Award nominated, Ovation Award winning American actress.
Born in New York, New York, Gaven was the voice for Maude Flanders, Helen Lovejoy, Miss Hoover and others on The Simpsons from 1999 until 2002, when Maggie Roswell returned after a pay dispute.
Her major Broadway success was a 1992 Tony Award nomination as Best Actress (Featured Role - Musical) for her portrayal of Mrs. Walker in the Broadway production of The Who's Tommy.
In 1988, she played the part of Svetlana in the short-lived Broadway production of the musical Chess, which original cast recording was nominated for 1988 Grammy Award. In 1995, she returned to this musical, this time as Florence Vassy, in the Los Angeles production at Hollywood's Hudson Theatre. She was highly praised by the critics and received an Ovation Award (Best Lead Actress in a Musical) and a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award (Best Lead Performance).
