Revision as of 15:34, 3 February 2010

Because of certain family health concerns, Unitanode will not be on Misplaced Pages nearly as often, for an indefinite period of time.

Brief note, on my politics:

I edit some political articles; please read this before accusing me of bias.

My votes in the last four presidential elections: Clinton, Bush, Bush, Obama. I do not have a bias for (or against) any political party.

Article space

Top priority

Unreferenced BLPs are my top priority now. Finally figured out how to link the damn list.

Current strategy

Most of my wiki-time will be used on this, at least for now. My strategy is as follows:

  1. Pick a month, and year (currently, March 2007).
  2. Work my way through the list, alphabetically, doing the following:
    1. Check for references/sources.
    2. If none, place a PROD tag.
    3. If it is reffed, in whatever way, briefly (no more than a brief look) check the refs to make sure they're legit.
    4. If legit, stub the article, and remove the tag.
  3. When finished, cut-and-paste the list of articles to the holding page below.

Currently, I'm using my alternate account User:Unitasock for the actual work, since it makes it much easier to cut-and-paste the list to the holding area.

Rate of BLP work

As a result of some (I believe, unfounded) complaints about my rate of BLP work, I'm posting some hard facts here:

Begin date/time: 21 Jan 2010, 03:37
Last date/time: 25 Jan 2010, 03:40
Total time: 4.002 days
Total articles prodded: 171
Total articles where other work was done: 71
Average articles prodded per day: 42.729
Average articles where other work was done: 17.741

I fail to see how this could possibly be "overwhelming the system" as some have claimed.

Biographies of living people

  • I have a particular interest in biographies of living people, and the issues that surround them. As such, I will be watching all articles tagged with the BLP tag.
I've actually decided to simply use this link, in lieu of adding every BLP to my watchlist.

Policy

Other usernames I've edited with over the years, for those too lazy to click on the history of the articles I've written

Due to Durova's insistence on Misplaced Pages Review that she be informed of all my past accounts, I'm listing them here. I'm not sure why this needed to be done, as simply clicking the history of any of the above articles I've written gives you the same information. I'll include any possible conflicts I remember from these account names, to save Durova even more investigation time.

  • Special:Contributions/BobTheTomato - This is the account name into which the contributions I made under my real-life name were collapsed. I (and many others) tangled with GwenGale at the Lincoln article. This led to the eventual undisappearance to oppose her RfAs. I'm happy to have been wrong in my view of how she would use the tools. I think I may have participated in a Giano Arbcom with this account and/or MrWhich. Oh, and this is the account I undisappeared to oppose Gwen's two RFAs. In retrospect, I shouldn't have done that, and should have just used the BBC account. Dates: 20 Feb 2007 to 8 Dec 2007, with undisappearances in Jan08 and May08 to oppose GwenGale.
  • Special:Contributions/MrWhich - I never made any secret that this account was the same person as BTT. In fact, I think I remember even tagging the userpage of this account to reflect as much, but I'm not certain about that. Participated in the Giano/IRC arbcom with this account. Became frustrated, scrambled password. Dates: 5 Nov 2007 to 27 Dec 2007.
  • Special:Contributions/Bellwether BC - I believe that the only real "dispute" I was involved with regarding this account was the whole Archtransit fiasco, and that was in trying to see his/her tools removed, which they eventually were. Became frustrated, scrambled password. Dates: 27 Dec 2007 to 23 May 2008.
  • Special:Contributions/SDJ - It was this account which the odd film buff Ecoleetage, while pretending to be a guy from Mozambique, befriended. He attempted to persuade me to nominate him for adminship, claiming to have adopted an AIDS orphan, and insisting the only reason I wouldn't do so was that he was a "nigger from Africa", when he was actually a white guy from America. When that didn't work, he sent me a package containing a DVD and a letter. And when that didn't work, he called my boss, trying to get me fired. Apparently I also supported a ban of Ottava with this account, though I didn't remember that interaction at all, until I dug through the diffs. Disappeared for obvious, real-life reasons, at which point I think an arbitrator deleted my other username pages. Dates: 24 May 2008 to 17 Jan 2009.
  • Special:Contributions/Watershipper - I became frustrated with Fritzpoll's deletions of Alexis Grace, and I was in the wrong. Looking back, this encounter is one of my biggest regrets, as far as my own behavior is concerned. Fritzpoll knew of my previous accounts. I had almost completely forgotten about this encounter, until I looked at the contribs of this account. Became frustrated, scrambled password. Dates: 17 Jan 2009 to 19 Mar 2009
  • Special:Contributions/Unitanode - Current account. Only real conflicts with Ottava Rima (who is now banned), and Mattisse (whom I've been trying to work with a bit, and it seems to be going well). I don't regret anything I've written under this account name at all. Dates: 21 Mar 2009 to the present.
Note

What I should have done, throughout the last few years, is just went with "MrWhich2, MrWhich3, etc." when I had a change of heart after scrambling my passwords.

Further note

Apparently, Durova still thinks I'm hiding something. She claims that the above list isn't all-inclusive. I have no earthly idea who her "hunches" are telling her I might have been previously, but the accounts I've listed are all the accounts I have run during my time on Misplaced Pages. I'm not sure why I've let her bullying push me this far, but I'm finished catering to her. If you have an accusation to make, Durova, make it. And make it on-Wiki, not through your veiled innuendos on Misplaced Pages Review. I'm certain that I've probably been checkusered multiple times in the last few months. I give checkusers my permission to reveal any alternate accounts that might have been uncovered during the process of such CUs. If none have been run -- which I doubt -- I give Lar (or any CU for that matter) permission to run periodic checks on this account, compare the results with historical data from anyone Durova suspects me of being. I'm just tired as hell of putting up with her nonsense.
