Chrysoupoli (Template:Lang-el, Template:Lang-bg, Sarashaban) is a municipality in the Kavala Prefecture, Greece. Population 15,678 (2001). It was known as "Sarışaban" during Ottoman rule. It was kaza centre in Drama sanjak at Selanik Vilayet before Balkan Wars. It was firstly occupied by Bulgaria in First Balkan War but then taken by the Greek Army in 11 July 1913. It was also occupied by Bulgaria between 1941-1944 during World War II. Its old name was Sapaioi between 1913-1929.
