Bill Gaston is a Canadian novelist, playwright and short story writer. He won the inaugural Timothy Findley Award in 2003, and his story collection Mount Appetite was nominated for the Giller Prize in 2002.

Gaston grew up in Winnipeg, Toronto and North Vancouver.

He currently teaches creative writing at the University of Victoria. He previously served as director of the creative writing program at the University of New Brunswick, and as editor of The Fiddlehead.
