Can't Be Tamed is the third studio album from American pop recording artist Miley Cyrus, currently set for release on June 22, 2010. The new album will be available as a standalone CD, as well as a deluxe edition including a DVD with 2009 concert footage.
Background
Cyrus first announced that she was working on a new album in December 2009, the same time she announced her intentions to take a break from the music industry, which she will be doing after the release of Can't Be Tamed in order to focus on her film career. Cyrus described the album as, "a little different. It's kind of poppier, but then it still has an edge, which all of my music kind of has to it. I think it's really fun. I think people will really like it. It's definitely a good summer CD. It's good to blast in your car." Cyrus added that there will be "kind of a techno vibe on some stuff".
I just want to kind of do all different kinds of music, same way I want to be with movies. I never want to get stuck in a rut.
— Miley Cyrus, MTV Rough Cut
It is known that Cyrus recorded a cover of the Poison song Every Rose Has Its Thorn in collaboration with Bret Michaels, which was produced by John Shanks, although Cyrus did not confirm the song will appear on her new album.
