Welcome

Welcome to Misplaced Pages, the greatest encyclopedia on Earth! You seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics!

You may wish to review the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, as well as the avoiding common mistakes and Misplaced Pages is not pages.

Here are some helpful links:

By the way, an important tip: To sign comments on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments.

Hope to see you around the Wiki! If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

Hello!

Hello, D-Day, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! I saw your comment on Clueless newbies- don't take the title seriously. After all, we were all once newbies ourselves. Anyways, to add a preexisting image, add this to the article: ] , replacing NAME with the name of the image and FMT with the format type (jpeg, gif, etc.). In addition, you can size the picture by doing this: ] , meaning that you want the picture to be 200 pixels in size. Also, for most articles you will want to do this: ] . This automatically resizes the image to a "good" viewing size, and you can place caption on it. For example, I'm going to put this on: ]

Your caption can go here!

. I hope that all made sense. To upload images (taking pictures not already entered into the Misplaced Pages server), you click "Upload file" in your toolbox (usually in the left hand corner), select browse, and file the picture. Then choose a suitable name for it, type a description of it, and then click upload. Remember that all pictures must be non-copyrighted; see GFDL for more information. I hope all of that answers your question about images.

As for the "|", that is a piped link. What it means is that you can link to an article but make it display something else. For example, if you put ] , the viewer sees "Click here to go to an article.", but clicking on it will take you to the "Chess" article. Click here to go to an article. (that was the example of a piped link). Piped links are used when you are writing in a sentence, and you want to write something different than the article title. For example: The computers are acting up. The link takes you to computer, but you see "computers".

Well, I hope that answers your questions. (whew!) If you have any further questions, do not hesistate to ask me on my talk page (click on the "A note?" link in my signature and edit that page), or ask the Help desk (see the code for that for an example of a piped link). Once again, welcome to Misplaced Pages! Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 21:32, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

P.S. You can also check out Misplaced Pages:Picture tutorial and Help:Images and other uploaded files; they give a plethora of information. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 16:14, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

Welcome (again)

First off, thank you again, I do like what you have been doing on the Rookie of the Year, sorry about the misunderstanding we had earlier. Keep up the good work.

Second, as far as the template on Greg Sacks, you had almost everything right, you just had one too many ]] marks in the birthplace field.

(], ] instead of ]|Mattiuck]], ])

That messed up the display of the rest of the template, but the information that you entered was still there, and once the ]] was removed, it displayed nicely. Again, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, I'm more than happy to help, and thanks again. -slowpokeiv 16:03, 26 July 2005 (UTC)

Oh, so THAT's what the problem was!! I had a feeling it was some tiny little thing, and it was especially irritating because I spent three hours yesterday writing that article!. Well, thanks for cleaning that up. Also, thanks again for help with that picture. That was my first attempt at posting a picture and wasn't sure why it wasn't loading seeing as I was following all given directions. Oh, and don't worry about the ROY thing. I understand what you meant and it actually has gotten better since then. I've completely forgotten about the mix-up. Thanks for all your help!

--D-Day 16:35, 26 July 2005 (UTC)D-Day

Re:3 hours and still not seeing what I'm missing, yeah, been there, done that, don't want to do it again. (but I still do. :( ) Re: image, yeah, I was confused at first myself, but again, all that was wrong was a small detail. The wikipedia is very case sensitive, except for the first letter, and as such "03 Nose.jpg" is different than "03 nose.jpg". Anyways, welcome again, keep it up, and your comments as to where you'd like the NASCAR WikiProject to go is more than welcome, even if it is just echoing what others have said. (Especially in that case, actually, as that's how consensus is realized...) -slowpokeiv 17:03, 26 July 2005 (UTC)

Minor edits

I noticed that you marked a couple edits to Countdown with Keith Olbermann, as well as a couple other pages, as minor. Please be careful which edits you mark as minor; a minor edit is usually a spelling or grammar fix, or an uncontroversial formatting change. Insertion or deletion of text is generally not minor, even though it may change a very small amount of text. Please see Misplaced Pages:Minor edits for more. This is really a minor gripe (ha, ha), but it can cause editors to miss changes they might actually want to see. Thanks, Aerion//talk 19:43, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the heads up. I wasn't quite sure what they meant, but thanks for telling me. I'll remember that in the future. --D-Day 20:23, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Image tags

Hey, me again. I highly enjoy the image you added to Countdown with Keith Olbermann. But you should tag the image with a copyright tag of some sort so that we know where it came from, and that it's OK to use it. If you need help choosing which tag to use, leave a message on my talk page mentioning where you got the image from, and I'll try to help. Keep up the good work! Aerion//talk 22:15, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Well, did the olbermann.org poster have permission to use it? I suppose it would actually be Fair Use, specifically {{film-screenshot}}, so I'll tag it as such. However, I don't really want to look through the website to get the source information, and a cursory Googling for it turns up nothing. Aerion//talk 23:22, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Very well then, if you think it's legal. If not, I'll try to find another Countdown image to use that isn't copy-righted. Thanks for your help. --D-Day 09:20, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Image tags re. Brett Bodine

Where did you get the Brett Bodine pic? As said above, it needs to be tagged with a copyright tag. Can I ask where you got it from? ral315 23:01, August 5, 2005 (UTC)

Also, I wanted to say, you're a great writer, and I enjoyed the Brett Bodine article. One word to the wise, however: try not to use too many wikilinks. Trying to read sentences like this can get a bit annoying. Many of the links are OK, however, ones to articles like Diana, Sunday, and scoring are usually unnecessary. Again, keep up the good work! ral315 23:06, August 5, 2005 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure where I got that picture from. I'll substitute with another one where I know I got the source from. Thank you for your advice and kind words. --D-Day 11:38, 6 August 2005 (UTC)

10-10-345 and Photos

Hi D-Day. I've been working on the 10-10-345 article which was put up for deletion. In that case, it turns out that Lucky Dog is actually a division of AT&T. I moved most of the article to a new section on the AT&T page and fixed the links. As for the images you used from sugarfreeracing.com, all of their photos are copyrighted to the site owners, so it's not ok to upload them on Misplaced Pages. I've flagged the car photo as a copyright violation and the 10-10-345 image as "possibly unfree" (logos are more complicated copyright-wise, but it's still not helpful, in my opinion, to display advertisements here.)

There are lots of instructions about how to find freely usable images for Misplaced Pages (or to create your own) at Misplaced Pages:Image use policy and Misplaced Pages:Public domain image resources. It can be very complicated and if you're confused by what's ok, don't be afraid to ask.

I hope all this isn't discouraging. You've done a lot of work in a short time. I hope you've enjoyed learning more about how to contribute. Your help in creating Misplaced Pages is highly valued. Dystopos 00:54, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

All right. Thanks for the update. I'll try to find new photos in place of the ones from Sugar free racing. Thanks for your help. --D-Day 11:02, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
No problem. A word of caution - about 99% of photographs you'll find on the web are copyrighted and can't be used on Misplaced Pages without a written agreement from the copyright holder to allow the photo to be published under the GFDL license. The above links have more information about that. If you have photos you've taken yourself, those can be used if you agree to release them under the GFDL. Dystopos 14:18, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

More copyright problems

I see from above that a number of users have commented on images that you have uploaded that have copyright issues. I'm sorry to say that I've found a number of images that you have uploaded that also have copyright issues. These are listed below. I want to make it clear that I bear no hostility towards you! Let me repeat that - I am NOT attacking you, ok? Got it? :)

Copyright is a very serious issue. See Misplaced Pages:Copyrights. In almost all circumstances (there are exceptions...see below), you can not take images from websites and upload them here on Misplaced Pages without the expressed permission of the copyright holder even if there is no copyright tag on the website you are pulling images from. I can not stress this enough.

There are exceptions to this; there are certain classes of photographs on the web that are exempt from copyright. For example, images taken by the U.S. government; by law they are in the public domain. I've taken advantage of this myself in uploading a large number of U.S. military photographs (see User:Durin/Contributions#Images_I.27ve_uploaded). For more information on exeptions, see WP:ICT#Public_domain.

Here are the images you have uploaded that I have placed for deletion as a result of copyright violations:

In cases where I could not verify copyright status (could not find original), I placed a {{nosource}} tag on the images. This is a list of those images:

I strongly urge you to clarify the copyright status of these images. I suspect that all of the images in the nosource list were taken from your high school's website at . As such, they are not in the public domain even though that website does not have a copyright tag on it.

In the future, please do not post content or images that are copied from websites or other materials subject to copyright. I want to help you get past these issues and learn what you need to know about copyright, but you have to work with us, ok? --Durin 16:55, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

I hear you. I'll delete all those images. I'll try to avoid loading images in the future. --D-Day 17:30, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

Pardon me for intruding, and Durin, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that Durin was suggesting you not load images, but copyrighted images. Truth be told, almost every image is copyrighted, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Some are not, for example: Images created by the United States Government, Images made by the USSR before May 1973, and others. Take a quick look at Misplaced Pages:Copyrights#Image_guidelines and also Misplaced Pages:Image_copyright_tags for ideas of images one can use. (Note: I've uploaded extremly few images myself, excepting logos, so don't feel bad.) -slowpokeiv 17:57, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
  • Absolutely! It's ok to upload images; there's a LOT of images on Misplaced Pages. It's not the images you uploaded that are the problem; the problem is their copyright status. Please DO upload images; just make sure they are clear of any copyright concerns. --Durin 18:02, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Okay, I have a question. So I can avoid getting into this sort of mess in the future, how do I know when an image is NOT copyrighted? Whenever I've tried to download an image, and I notice that there is no copyright notice, I assume its ok, so that's where my problems come in. Also, you may have noticed that I provided a link to my source, so I thought that would work. Guess not. Thank you for the info and encouragement you've given me so far!
Well... Long story short, (not easy) due to American Copyright Law, just about everything is copyrighted. Only when one explicitly states that the copyright (now abbreviated as (c) ) is waived (and they actually have the right in the first place) is there no (c). As such, the Misplaced Pages must assume that in abscence of such a statement, the material is copyrighted. Even with such a statment, this is sometimes suspect. One example I can give is a governmental portrait of Mary McAleese (President of Ireland). Even with the statment, this image will probably be deleted, despite the fact that it was featured on the front page!
One main exception to all of this, is where the (c) law excludes the entity from (c). (in the case of US Government, and others that are excluded.) Another case is when the (c) has expired. (70 years in the US, I believe.) Another is when you actually own the (c), that is, you took the photo, or created the image yourself. One has to be careful to be able to say that you did create a new image with that method, (photographs are by definition new images), but in my opinion, is the easiest method to ensure (c) free status.
One last note: despite all of this, if you take a look at the tags at Misplaced Pages:Image_copyright_tags, and if it fits one of those tage, then you can use that image. -slowpokeiv
    • I'll try to make the story even shorter. EVERY creative work produced in the US is automatically copyrighted the second it is produced (with a few minor exceptions, (see Misplaced Pages:Image_copyright_tags). What this means is that the creator has the RIGHT to determine how the work is used by others. A copyright NOTICE, at one time required, is now more of a reminder, (useful in court proceedings, maybe, but no longer part of the law). Therefore, unless you KNOW that something is in the public domain (see link above), then it almost always isn't. Other country's laws are different, but the principles remain the same.
On Misplaced Pages, which is an "open content" project, you and I as creators have agreed to abandon our RIGHTS as creators, and to release our work under the GFDL license, which means that other people can modify it, republish it, sell it, or just about anything else as long as they don't add restrictions to it. To do this is to make a gift to the world of something that belongs to us. When we try to give things to the world that aren't ours to begin with, we violate copyright.
If you were to ask my advice, I'd say that the best thing to do is to start with Misplaced Pages:Images and stick to sources that you know to be in the public domain. (i.e. free of copyright). If you have a camera, taking your own pictures and granting them to the public could be the most straightforward way to contribute. Good luck, and thanks for putting up with all this lecturing. Image tagging

Please tag your images to show what license they are under, or atleast tell what license they are under. If you cannot release them under the GFDL or a similar free license, they cannot be used here, except under fair use. And fair use doesn't cover using them in stub tags. Also, 100px is kinda big for a stub tag image, I resized it to the smallest size possible while still keeping the girls visible. --Phroziac 17:12, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

If you are talking about the cheerleading one, I just reuploaded with a tag. I have a question. What should I assume if there is no copyright label on the webpage it is coming from? --D-Day 17:56, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
Pictures are copyrighted, with all rights reserved, unless the author explicitly releases his rights. Please don't upload pictures you find on the web unless there's some reason to think they are free. And don't upload pictures with the {{don't know}} tag. It is your responsibility to determine the copyright status before uploading. dbenbenn | talk 18:06, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Hey, I was wondering if you have a source for this image? If not, it will have to be deleted soon. Zach (Sound Off) 05:31, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

The site is 123People.net However, it is copyrighted, so it looks like the image will have to be deleted irregardless. Thanks for your help, though. --D-Day 10:48, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
Nah, what you can do is tag it at {{fairuse}} and explain that we cannot get free-use NASCAR photos, unless people like to take pictures for us. Zach (Sound Off) 13:47, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

Image:Eccatcher.jpg

Whether or not the website you got it from still exists has no influence on any copyrights. Could you tag it for deletion so it can be deleted without having to wait seven days? Thanks. --fvw* 23:12, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

That has been done. Thank you for your help.--D-Day 23:22, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks. There's no need for an IfD though, if you're the creator and want it deleted you can just tag it for speedy deletion. --fvw* 23:28, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

image tagging, Image:Catcher2.jpg, and Image:Hitting.jpg

G'day D-Day,

I'm concerned about two images you recently uploaded and added to Softball. I've reverted your edit, because the images are unfree and the only other change was an accidental typo.

Good job on including the source of your images, which is something most editors (including me, sometimes) often forget to do. However, your source, a subpage of Oak Park Elementary, explicitly states that we aren't allowed to use its images. Their copyright policy is difficult to find, but located here, and says:

Your use of the information is for informational, personal, and noncommercial purposes only.

Daft as it sounds, Misplaced Pages cannot use content licenced under a "noncommercial purposes only" clause. This is because all content on Misplaced Pages is licenced under the GNU Free Documentation Licence (GFDL), and although Misplaced Pages itself is not commercial, other websites must be allowed to take our content and use it for commercial purposes if they wish, providing they abide by the GFDL.

A broader issue is the tags you've used on those images. Image:Catcher2.jpg is tagged as "Public Domain", and Image:Hitting.jpg is tagged as if it were under an "any purpose" copyright licence. This is, as far as I can tell, quite incorrect – both images are available under a non-commercial licence only, which is very different from public domain. Please spend some time going through Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags, it might help you work out which images are allowed on Misplaced Pages and which aren't.

If you need any help, don't hesitate to leave a message on my talk page. Cheers, and I look forward to working with you to make softball an even better article, --fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 15:05, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your help, it is extremely appreciated. I wasn't aware of the tagging guide, but I will check that out before I upload the next image. In the meanwhile, I will continue to hunt for any other free images that might be out there.(There's got to be some on the Web! There must be!) Thanks again! --D-Day 19:19, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Category Norway

Hi D-Day, I humbly ask you to remove your userpage from: Articles in category "Norway". Even if you’re the nicest guy in the world, IMO your userpage is not a valuable addition to the category. If you would like to link to the category use ":Category:Norway" instead of "Category:Norway" (note the extra :).

Thanks 212.102.225.147 14:41, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

All set. Sorry about the confusion. Thanks for your notification.--D-Day 19:41, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Emma Watson

Hey there! Two things: 1) I noticed you removed that reference to a boyfriend from Emma Watson. First of all, I totally agree. It was awkward and unsourced and not really appropriate. But that technically counts as a revert, and I think it's nice to label things like that in the future with an edit summary... along with a reason why it was reverted. That page especially has a history of bad information and unencyclopedic stuff like her favorite color and height and weight. Documenting why that stuff is removed (perhaps even on the talk page) might discourage some of it from coming back (as it inevitably does.) But thanks for catching it!

2) You're not allowed to marry Emma Watson because she is mine. She came to me in a dream and embodied perfect happiness. We were best friends. You can't come between us.  :-) --NymphadoraTonks 21:24, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

I wasn;t sure how to label that edit(I didn't feel like typing Reverted edit by so-and-so) so that's why it went unlabled. And hands off of Emma, pal! She's mine! Thanks anyway.--D-Day 22:16, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't like to type all that out either. Admins get a fancy Revert button (ooooh!) that does the edit summary for them. I usually just say "revert" or "rv." Hooray for laziness! --NymphadoraTonks 22:28, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank you! The page you mentioned is already fixed.
The reason my userpage gets vandalised is probably because of my effort to remove vandalism from wikipedia, some vandals dont like getting reverted apperantly. :)
For further use: The way to fix vandalism is through page history. You can compare versions and click on the prefered version :) --Cool Cat 23:47, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Vandals

Hi. I just wanted to say you have the best userpage I've ever seen. I just want to know, why on earth does it keep getting vandalized?(P.S. speaking of which, someone vandalized the Green Bay Packers page. Would you mind reverting it please? I don't know to fix a big mess like that. Thanks)--D-Day 23:06, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

User talk:203.167.171.247

I just reverted a bit of vandalism done by our good friend behind 203.167.171.247, and noticed your comment on the related talk page. Certainly, that person has not been in a very pro-Misplaced Pages mood lately, so I can understand your frustration. However I think that "yelling" (with the use of all caps) on the talk page might have been the wrong way to go about things. Regardless of whether or not the current incarnation of 203.167.171.247 should be yelled at, I think the overall tone of your comment sends a poor message about the Misplaced Pages community to any future users of that IP address who may stumble across the talk page. Just my 3.14¢. Cheers. --PeruvianLlama 09:04, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments. I will refrain from using all-caps in the future. Hopefully this guy/gal can be brought down a few pegs in the future. God bless.--D-Day 14:02, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

D-Day Here's is something weird. I'm born in 1990. I have Aspergers. I edit the supercar page. I like Emma too. Are you my clone?--SevenTowel

Wow, that is weird. You know what they say, it's a small world, after all.--D-Day 14:02, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

I'm from Singapore. Tell me more about yourself. Just So weird. I've always wanted to meet my clone. So. How are you?

Image Tagging Image:Photo20.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Photo20.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Pak21 13:00, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. I have added the source to the photo. Unfortunately, it may still be a copyright violation because I uploaded back in the days when I had no idea what copyright was. But thanks for your advice just the same, and I'll be sure to check my other images. God bless. --D-Day 22:31, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

  • I think it probably is a copyright violation, as I can't see anything on packers.com which allows reuse of the images. I've changed the tag over to {{no license}} to reflect this. Cheers --Pak21 12:02, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Jesus

Check out the Jesus article and edit it to keep it focused on Jesus and a biographical account of Him. Watch the Jesus page to keep it focused on Him. Thank you. Scifiintel 21:46, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Could you explain please?

Elton John

Just wanted to say "thanks" for fixing the Elton John page...so, thanks. I'm new here and am also a big Elton fan...so hopefully I can help keep the trash out of the article. --Octopusouphut 05:14, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Teenage Wikipedian

You may want to put yourself in the Category:Teenage Wikipedians. --Thorpe 14:39, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

LOL

I had a laugh. I have actually had the odd person say "well done" in various forms too since I put that up. I still keep it up there though to encourage people to be nice when possible. Someone once wrote to me on my talk page "You know why people are so mean to you? Its because you're always whingeing about everything and criticising everything and trying to change everything. Why don't you just leave everyone alone?" and when I wiped their message from my talk page they told me I was vandalising it. LOL. Anyway. People say I think too much, and am too busy trying to work out solutions and understand everything that I end up making things more complicated and harder to understand. Oh well. Thanks for your message. Zordrac (talk) Wishy Washy Darwikinian Eventualist 19:24, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Deletion of 'liberals wikipedians' category

Hi. I saw you're (like me) listed in this category which is up for deletion. Hoped you'd like to vote in favor of keeping it... Thanks! Larix 23:05, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

I voted keep. You can view my comments on that page. Thanks for the heads up! I sure hope they keep them around. --D-Day 23:16, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

But you messed up your sig (got combined with sub-header somehow). I moved it to your comment. NoSeptember 23:25, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Something seems to have gone wrong there, yes. Perhaps you (D-Day I mean) should take a look at it... But anyway, many thanks for the voting and the comment! Larix 23:43, 19 December 2005 (UTC) Never mind, NoSeptember took care of it. :) Larix 00:30, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Book from Santa?

Say, DDay, which book did santa gove you for Christmas? (you know, the one you mentioned for NASCAR Rookie of the Year...) Should/could list it as a source for that page. (that, and I'd be interested, I might just want to get it myself...) -slowpokeiv 16:55, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

The book is NASCAR Chroncile by Greg Fielden. I'll be sure to list it as a source for the ROTY page. Yes it is a very intresting read, might just coming handy for the other parts of the WikiProject. --D-Day 16:57, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome note. I look foreward to trying to help the Nascar Project along. I am not trying to steal credit from you in saying I wrote much of the Brett Bodine article. He was always my favorite driver and I added alot of information to the article before I registered; in the history I am listed as 69.247.4.83. --Andrew Grigg

Gotcha. I was only joking with the Brett Bodine thing. Thanks for your contributions so far. --D-Day 15:19, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Question

At Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Kelly Martin, your 'outside comment' contains the statement "You don't go deleting things with a consensus, and then blast those who have the nerve to reprimand you. " This seems self-contradictory: did you mean to type 'without'? User:Noisy | Talk 13:41, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes I did. Thanks. --D-Day 14:25, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

Request for nomination for adminship

I was wondering if you would be willing to nominate me for Administrator status on Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship. You are probably familiar with my work on various NASCAR drivers at the beginning of Wikiproject:NASCAR. I also created Category:IRL drivers and List of Indycar drivers and have greatly improved the quality and quantity of IRL-related articles and have also gone through the entire lists of auto racing drivers making sure stubs were properly noted and that all drivers were listed by nationality. I have also been a vandalism/vanity patroller and intend to use admin powers to assist in that. Thank you. -Drdisque 19:22, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm flattered at your request. Yes, I'll be more than happy to nominate you. I think you would make a very good admin. You can view the link at Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Drdisque. Thank you and God bless. --D-Day 23:01, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Thou Shalt Not Blaspheme!

Thou art not God. Do you have the power to crush the mighty Leviathan? I think not, mortal. X, Y and Z

Thou shall not be a hypocrite. Doest thou have heard of thine golden rule? I thought not. --D-Day 22:00, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Message

D Day, I was wondering what caused you to leave the message on my Talk Page. Where did I not leave my signature on a talk page? I have experience editing Misplaced Pages, and am curious what caused this sudden message. Thanks! clindsey 21:42, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

I thought you were a new user and left a welcome message. That template always has a reminder on adding your signature to talk pae messages. Sorry about the confusion! --D-Day 22:56, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Come and vote your mind

Dear Christian friend,

I saw you on the list of Christian Wikipedians and wanted to let you know about something. The other day, someone nominated 12 Christian biography entries for deletion! They include a Christian university list of people (not unlike 68 other lists like it), presidents of universities, and authors of many books.

Since that time, people have been voting. Please take this message as a call to vote; not a call to vote a certain way. I respect you and your ability to come, read the entry, and make a wise decision. In other words, I’m not vote stacking or campaigning; simply letting you know something that you’d probably like to know.

By the way, my friend recently started an organization called Wiki4Christ. If you’d like to join a network of Christians with a purpose on Misplaced Pages, please see the site!

Below are some of the links that need attention. Thanks for your consideration.

Thanks for your warning!

Hiya D-Day, thanks for grabbing the userbox I was working on and stopping me falling foul of the WP:NPA! I am glad ya sorted that one out. I wasn't thinking straight when I started that box off...I am gonna reword the box, but I will keep it within guidelines. Thanks again, Thor Malmjursson 16:15, 22 January 2006 (UTC) Talk
