The album will be released in the summer of 2010, as Cyrus believes it is "definitely a good summer CD. It's good to blast in your car". A standard edition, containing only an audio CD, and a deluxe edition, containing an audio CD and a DVD, will be released on June 22, 2010; the DVD will contain previously unreleased footage from Cyrus' Wonder World Tour (2009).
