WLIO-DT2 is the primary Fox and secondary MyNetworkTV-affiliated television station for Northwestern Ohio. The station is a second digital subchannel of NBC affiliate WLIO that is owned by Block Communications. Over-the-air, it broadcasts a digital signal on VHF channel 8.2 from a transmitter on Rice Avenue in Lima. This can also be seen on Time Warner channel 9 and in high definition on digital channel 709. Syndicated programming on WLIO-DT2 includes: Seinfeld, Family Guy, King of the Hill, and Scrubs. Its parent station has studios on Rice Avenue in Lima. MyNetworkTV airs on weeknights from 11 until 1 in the morning.
Originally, the area's Fox affiliate was on WOHL-CA (now WOHL-CD) which was with the network from its inception on October 9, 1989 until September 28, 2009. On that date, ABC affiliate WLQP-LP terminated its analog operations and its programming was shifted to WOHL. Due to its Class A status, that channel did not air a digital signal of its own while broadcasting in analog. However, there was one offered on WLIO's second digital sunchannel. After WOHL's switch to ABC, Fox and MyNetworkTV shows continued to be seen on WLIO-DT2.
