Once upon a time there was a mongoose. One day he got bored, so he ran into a newspaper printer and screamed 'stop the press!' and, sure enough, they did. He soon realised that people were frowning at him so he quickly left. On the way home he saw a pig. He was so overjoyed, he jumped into a nearby river and drowned himself. The pig did not take kindly to this and grunted, he soon left and started having sex with a nearby hippo. They all lived hapily ever after. Except for the mongoose, who was dead, of course.
'''Electrical resistance''' is the ratio of the ] across an electric component (such as ]) to the ] passing through it. It is thus a measure of the component's opposition to the flow of ]. Usually denoted by symbol ''R''. The ] unit for electrical resistance is ]. Its ] quantity is ].

Specific electrical resistance, a measure of material's ability to oppose the flow of ] is known as ].
