Bosansko Krajište is name used in Ottoman Empire for a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina that was on the border of the Ottoman Empire, but not under it's firm control in period between 1392 and 1463.
Etimology
Krajište, name for administrative units on the border of empire without established solid and firm control under it is taken from Serbian language during medieval times, after in 1392 Ottoman Empire conquered Skopje, former capitol of Serbian Empire.
History
Ottoman Empire had two administrative units with name Krajište. They were Skopsko Krajište and Bosansko Krajište. Battle of Marica was the first battle of Ottoman Empire and rulers from Serbian Empire captured parts of Serbian Empire Battle of Bileća in 1388 was first battle of army of Ottoman Empire on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. When Ottoman Empire finally conquered whole territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1463, Bosansko Krajište was established as Sanjak of Bosnia.
