Thara Prashad |
---|
Thara Natalie Prashad (born January 16, 1982), also known as Thara, is an American R&B singer and model. Her father is Indian Guyanese while her mother is part Irish and part African American. She used to be signed on the Desert Storm label which includes rappers such as Fabolous.
She has worked with the R&B singer Jay Sean, featured in the song "Murder", which was included in Thara's debut album in 2007 and in Jay Sean's second album My Own Way in 2008. She has also been featured in the music video for Sean's "Stay", also featured in his second album. She collaborated with Sean again on the song "Love Goes", an older song that never came out, but which was leaked in January 2010.
Thara has a pomeranian called tyler. She announced in 2008 that she has not had a relationship with British born RnB star Jay Sean despite the rumours. It is stated that while Prashad is involved with someone and Jay Sean did announce that he is in a relationship with an girl he has worked with before and he is not going to tell anyone who she is in the wendy williams show and so from that we can say it is true. However from sources we can find out that there was something going on between the two. Thara's album "Thara" was released in Asian in 2007 and featured a duet with American RNB Icon John Legend. That song "Maybe" and the entire album is on iTunes.
Desert Storm's rapper Fabolous also used Thara on the song "Ghetto", produced by Scott Storch. "Ghetto" and the album "Real Talk" went on to sell over a Million Copies since its release in 2006.
Thara was one of the first South Asian artists to be played on Hot 97 and shares a birthday with RNB legend, Aaliyah.
