Misplaced Pages as a learning material is so great to a young girl like me. At present, I'm still studying and not able to write new articles actively, but minor edits in linguistic articles and translation are what I can do. Straightforward critics and comments, I don't mind if they're reasonable, and I'm glad to receive them as well. Please also check whether I copy complete information without understanding and knowing if it's appropriate. Last but not least, I'd like not only you, but more Wikipedians to talk with me. If you could place a comment on that page under the small fonts item in support of my request I'd really appreciate it. Thanks already for your help. --] 18:20, 20 February 2006 (UTC) |

German notice board
Great idea. Thanks for letting me know. I've added it to my watchlist. Seems to be pretty empty still. Is it new? --Mmounties 01:38, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- PS: you really speak some Platt? I understand some but speaking???? Naaaaaa.... :)
- Checked out the notice board. Love it! Thanks. --Mmounties 05:33, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I don't have time even to keep up with what I'm already involved in, so I'm going to pass on this; in general, my sense has been that German-related and Germany-related material is already being handled by a lot of very competent, scholarly people. - Jmabel | Talk 06:03, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- So let me ask you this: How did you come to be the first one to tell us about it? I think it's going to be a huge success. Way to go!!!! --Mmounties 07:17, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank you for welcoming me back. I will not stay active on Misplaced Pages for long now either however, but I will make cerain edits that I have planned during the course of the next week. Happy editing for you too. DeirYassin 17:13, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Portal Germany
I tried shortening the language in the first item. I have IE so I can't tell how it displays in other browsers. I assume it was fine before you added the point on the New articles page? Please let me know if it looks ok in your browser now. I think I have one more trick in my bag that I can try if this didn't help. --Mmounties 23:51, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ahhh, beautiful. I like it when it works. :) --Mmounties 23:59, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Niederschlesien
Why do you keep changing Niederschlesien to northwest of Poland if it is located in the southwest of Poland? Pommern is located in the northwest for that matter.
Hi, I just have read the whole thing over and I have realized my mistake. I have realized you were refering to it as a whole, not part of Poland. It's your call if you want to change it.
Ethnic German
I just gave Ethnic German a huge reworking. I'd appreciate it if you'd look it over, since you are neutral, seem to be informed on these Eastern European topics, and maybe know better how to categorize it and link it to other articles. I'm especially shaky on the Czechia / Poland / Baltic stuff like major settlements, group names, which articles are out there, and Hanseatic and Prussian history, because it's the farthest from Danube Swabian issues. Move
I could, but I have been 'burned' few times by people accusing me of abusing admin powers and not going through Misplaced Pages:Requested moves. My recommendation is to use this slower, but safer procedure.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus 22:03, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
Penn State Wiki
Hi Olessi, I want to invite you to the first meeting of the Penn State Wiki Group, to be held in 116 Osmond Thursday 23--Feb--2006 on campus. Bring a friend! Thanks, Gchriss 02:54, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Železný Brod
I'll take look.
There is no portal/notice board for the Czech Republic. I can count active Czech editors on fingers of one hand and they are too busy to deal with infrastructure. Pavel Vozenilek 14:59, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Re: admin - you?
I'm afraid I grew too much cynical over the time. Long ago I attempted RfA (Misplaced Pages:Requests_for_adminship/Pavel_Vozenilek). I got definitely discouraged by result of a RfA proposed by me (User:Rl, take a look, really interesting).
The current system is leaned toward relatively new people which are not much known and didn't get yet into anything controversial. Otherwise the person gets thoroughly besmirched by the all-present trolls (see current RfA on A. Bakharev). (Note aside: IMO current RfA process is defunct since it is people who are not afraid to touch the trolls who keep the ship still afloat.)
Woudn't you like to be an admin? If there are no warriors gnashing their teeths when seeing your name you have fair chance to pass through (and keep your self-esteem intact). That the area of your activity has no admins yet is plus. Pavel Vozenilek 13:28, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
