Simon Strelchik was the federal New Democratic Party candidate for the Canadian riding of Thornhill, in the 2006 federal election.
Over Rick Morelli's total in the 2004 election, the NDP vote total increased 25%, to 4405 votes, behind Liberal incumbent Susan Kadis and Conservative challenger Anthony Reale.

He has been president of the Thornhill NDP riding association since 2001, and a past campaign manager. He volunteers regularly as an assistant for developmentally disabled children in York Region.
Strelchik has been an active member of the in the Ontario New Democratic Youth, and an unsuccessful candidate for provincial executive of the Ontario New Democratic Party.
