This page lists proposed article mergers as a supplement to the merge categories and templates; it does not replace any of the other steps in the merger process. Please add the appropriate merger tag(s) to the articles before listing them here.
Category mergers should not be proposed here. Please see Misplaced Pages:Categories for discussion.
Template mergers should not be proposed here. Please see Misplaced Pages:Templates for discussion.
How to propose a merger
Main page: Help:MergingProposing a merger can be done in three steps:
- Create a place for discussion. Go to the discussion page (also known as the talk page) of one of the articles and create a section to discuss the merger. If there's already a discussion on the talk page regarding the merger, you can omit this step. The section name can be anything, for example
==Proposed merger from Page1==
. - Put one of the merger tags at the top of the articles you wish to be merged. The templates {{merge}}, {{Merge from}} and {{Merge to}} are the most common ones. Remember to make sure that the Discuss link in each tag points to the section you've created in step 1 – this is to prevent having two separate discussions on different talk pages.
- If the proposed merge is controversial or potentially difficult to carry out, follow the directions under #Requests for assistance and feedback to add it to the list.
Automatically generated log
For each month, a list of up to 200 requests is generated by a bot. When the merge templates have been removed from the articles in question, they will be taken off the list.
Note: The bot may not be removing merged pages from the list/log in some cases. (note added: Dec. 16 2010)

Requests for assistance and feedback
In general, this section should be used to solicit outside feedback regarding mergers that are either tricky or of a controversial nature. Brief replies may be posted here, but lengthy discussions should be confined to the talk pages of the articles involved. You must tag the articles, as described above, as well. After articles are merged (or a consensus that the articles should not be merged is reached), please remove them from the list below.
- If you want to show off your work, use the talk page.
- If you need help with renaming or moving, consult Help:Moving a page.
- Cut and paste move fixes: To request page histories to be merged, list them at cut and paste move repairs.
Current requests
Please list new requests at the bottom of this section. Sign each listing or comment by typing: ~~~~
- Merge Young Adult Literature (YA Lit) into Young-adult fiction as it's a duplicate article. Not at all controversial, just not a straightforward merge. Fences&Windows 19:05, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Great candidates for a merge. The merge should be other way around though (yaf into yal; target may need rename), because as the latter points out, fiction is a subset of ya literature. It's not difficult per se—most unusually, it's still a good one to list here—but merits thoughtful planning, due to v. different writing style (distinct probable target audience, plus feel), v. similar but slightly different citation systems (re wp:cite need to respect that), differences in scope, of 2 well‑developed articles. Whether branching off some listy content or converting to prose should be involved (probably pre merge) is another consideration. Done well, and with care, it would shine. –Whitehorse1 22:38, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Merge List of UK dialling codes covering Wales to List of United Kingdom dialling codes. The Welsh dialling code page contains exactly the same information as the UK page. Discussion is at Talk:List of United Kingdom dialling codes#Merger_proposal. 90.208.56.217 (talk) 01:09, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
- Merge Polymer solar cells and Organic solar cells due to overlapping content. Talk at Talk:Organic solar cell#Merger proposal.

- Merge turkey tower into either towering cumulus or cumulus cloud. 69.251.180.224 (talk) 16:57, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- Note: Target one now a set index article –Whitehorse1 13:54, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Merge Lycus, son of Poseidon into Lycus (descendant of Lycus). Greek mythology is so convoluted that it's hard to tell if this is true, but I'm pretty sure they're the same person (see , ). I didn't want to go ahead and make the merge without having at least another opinion, though. — GorillaWarfare 04:42, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Merge Kitmaster into Rosebud Kitmaster. Both describe the same erstwhile company. 7severn7 (talk) 19:54, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Merge Herem into Cherem. See Talk:Cherem#Merge Herem into this article. The word is the exact same word, and it is used multiple ways in the Torah. It seems to be at best a misunderstanding of the Hebrew for one of the Biblical definitions to get its own article when there is a pre-existing article already on the parent topic and its use. -- Avi (talk) 16:43, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Merge Wawel Hill into Wawel. Discuss here. — Kpalion 19:09, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

- Merge recently created BHP Billiton Ravensthorpe Nickel Project into the existing Ravensthorpe Nickel Mine article as it is about the same subject. The creator of BHP Billiton Ravensthorpe Nickel Project however objects, suggesting to have an article about the BHP-phase of the mine only. Calistemon (talk) 01:58, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

- Merge Robert West (politician) into Christian Council of Britain Discussion Talk:Christian Council of Britain Seems to duplicate info but BNP related controversial subject JRPG (talk) 16:15, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- Merge Little Italy, Cleveland into University Circle. Discussion is: here. Little Italy is statistically part of a larger Cleveland neighborhood, (University Circle), which is reflected in the census data in the infobox, and is otherwise not included in the neighborhood template that appears at the bottom of each Cleveland Neighborhood article. The best option in this case, so far as the participating editors in WikiProject Cleveland have determined, is to merge these.Ryecatcher773 (talk) 03:51, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge light water into light water reactor. Discussion is here. A well-meaning but inept editor previously merged the content without merging the pages, so discussion regarding LWRs which should be located at its talk page is currently stuck in limbo on a redirect page. -LlywelynII (talk) 10:09, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge Pompton people into Wappinger. Discussion: Talk:Wappinger. "Pompton" is another term for Wappinger — "Wappinger" being much more commonly used term of the two. The Wappinger article is a well-sourced, start/C article, while Pompton is an orphaned stub. -Uyvsdi (talk) 19:48, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Uyvsdi
- Merge 1640 in Paleontology, 1665 in Paleontology, 1671 in Paleontology...(the rest can be seen here) in to some thing like "Paleontology in the 17th Century". The reason for this is that there are very little of these articles (6), and each one has very little unique content. Macadamia14 (talk) 01:43, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge Popcorn Sutton into Marvin Sutton as it's a duplicate article about the same person. Not at all controversial, just not a straightforward merge. Benjamintchip (talk) 22:30, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge List of ....Envy episodes into ....Envy as it's not large enough to have an article of itself and the information is duplicated. Mhiji 14:24, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge No. 664 Squadron RAF and No. 664 Squadron RCAF. I'm not sure which should be the target (probably, the former), but both seem to describe the same military unit, with some duplication, but unique information in both articles. Checking some online sources, there is also some confusion elsewhere as to the correct name. If nothing else, I think one should become a redirect to the other. Lynbarn (talk) 00:00, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
A similar situation seems to exist between the following to pairs of articles:
- Merge No. 665 Squadron RAF and No. 665 Squadron RCAF.
- Merge No. 666 Squadron RAF and No. 666 Squadron RCAF.
Regards, Lynbarn (talk) 00:17, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

- Merge Door safety into Door. This seems reasonable, since Door safety consists of largely minutia and is of pretty limited information and interest. Skrelk (talk) 05:29, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge Helena Island (Pacific) into St Helena Island National Park and rename to 'St Helena Island (Queensland)' RobBrisbane (talk) 11:06, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge Predicate (logic) with Predicate_(mathematical_logic). This merger was first proposed in 2007, and nothing has happened since then other than each year (excluding 2010) people agreeing that it should be merged (Discuss at Talk:Predicate_(mathematics)#Merge). POW™ (talk) 20:13, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Merge Gender bias in Misplaced Pages into Criticism of Misplaced Pages. This is decent content, but it seems like it would be a perfect fit on Criticism of Misplaced Pages, given that this page is essentially a criticism of Misplaced Pages.
