Fair use rationale for Padonki article
While the poster is copyrighted to the Russian edition of Newsweek magazine I think the usage of a reduced quality image constitutes "fair use" because:
- The image is of promotional nature
- It is of inferior quality
- It is used for the informational purposes only
- The article discusses the poster as an example of incorporation of the jargon by paper media

This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Misplaced Pages's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Misplaced Pages's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Misplaced Pages should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Misplaced Pages's copyright policy.
In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail. Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=24 December 2024}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle).Fair usetrue |
