Richard Daniel Roman (born 16 March 1965, Kings Cross, London) is a British songwriter, composer, singer, record producer, photographer, mystic and poet best known for his work with pop musicians.

Biography

Roman was born in 1965, the son of Andalusian parents and educated at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, In the early 1980s he began to learn his craft at London's Cockpit Theatre Arts and Music Workshop alongside other fledgling songwriter/producers such as Guy Chambers. In 1992, Roman moved to Spain where, after turning down an offer to work for Ministry of Sound, he established himself as a major Latin pop songwriter and producer, working with some of the biggest names in entertainment including UMG, Sony-ATV Music Publishing, Warner Bros., Sony Music, Warner/Chappell Music and EMI.

Roman worked with Spanish dance pop singer Rebeca , whose American debut album, Rebelde, was described by Allmusic's journalist, Stephen Thomas Erlewine, as a "terrific showcase for her infectious energy and rich voice", Mexican pop singer Paulina Rubio, for whom he wrote the chart topping song "Vive El Verano", which was included on her Billboard award winning and Grammy nominated album Paulina, Brazilian TV icon Xuxa, Mexican telenovela star Lorena Rojas, Shaila Durcal, Cristian Castro, Lady Gaga, Code Records, Adrian Posse, Luis Gomez Escolar, Ignacio Ballesteros and others.
