The Dog on the Tuckerbox is an Australian historical monument and tourist attraction, located five miles from Gundagai, New South Wales. It was sculpted by local stonemason Frank Rusconi and opened by the then Prime Minister of Australia Joseph Lyons in 1932.
The statue was inspired by Jack O'Hagan's song, Where the Dog Sits on the Tuckerbox (five miles from Gundagai).
Getting there and facilities
The Dog on the Tuckerbox is located in a small tourist area off the Hume Highway, south of Gundagai. It is easily accessed by both south-bound and north-bound traffic. There is also a convenience shop and service-station within the tourist park.
