Joseph Gordon-Levitt (born February 17, 1981 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor best known for his role as Tommy Solomon on 3rd Rock from the Sun. He also appeared in the films Angels in the Outfield and 10 Things I Hate About You.

In 1998, he appeared in the episode "Eric's Buddy" of That 70's Show.

In 2004 he appeared in the critically acclaimed limited-release film Mysterious Skin by director Gregg Araki which was well received at several major film festivals. He has also starred in the teenage film noir, Brick, being released in March 2006.

He is Jewish.
