Template:Megaman character Colonel is a Reploid from Mega Man X4 and is mentioned in the ending scene of Mega Man Xtreme 2. He is a high-ranking member Repliforce, an army that fights Mavericks. Colonel takes orders from General, the Repliforce leader.

In Megaman Battle Network 5 he was introduced as a NetNavi that forms a team to stop Nebula. He is from Netopia.

History

Mega Man X

Colonel was developed by Repliforce scientists as half of the perfect fighting Reploid. Iris, his sister, was the other half. His half was of the strong-willed fighter, and Iris' was of the peaceful arbitrator. Repliforce scientists had struggled to make these two factors into one Reploid, but the differences were irreconcilable, so they split them into brother and sister Reploids.

Colonel was later one of the major players of the Repliforce War, and his stubbornness, along with that of the Maverick Hunters, caused the needless battle. When the Sky Lagoon fell and Colonel was discovered near it, he refused to disarm and come back to Hunter Base for questioning, even though doing so could've cleared his name and that of the entire Repliforce organization. A war ensued after his commanding officer, General, decided to backlash by forming a colony exclusively for Reploids. The entire Repliforce was then incorrectly judged as Mavericks, and defeated. Colonel was killed defending the spaceport that led to the Final Weapon. His defeat drove his loving sister Iris nearly insane, and she too had to be destroyed as a Maverick when Zero defended himself against her.

MegaMan Battle Network

In the MegaMan Battle Network 5, Colonel is a powerful navi that fights for justice with his operator Baryl. Together they form the head of the "Anti-Nebula Corps" or "Team Colonel". Similar to his X series counterpart, Colonel is a righteous and respectable figure. He fights to liberate all territories occupied by the "Dark Chip Syndicate", Nebula.

Personality

Despite his mistaken stubbornness, Colonel was an honorable soldier, and never went against that. There were two things that Colonel was completely devoted to; the Repliforce, and his sister. He wanted to protect his sister, but let her have his freedom, especially when he knew she was in the safe supervision of Zero. In his loyalty to the Repliforce, Colonel served to back up General's statements and speeches, and was the main line of defense for the Repliforce's plan for the utopia. He truly believed in the place just for Reploids to live in peace, and fought for it bravely. To bring down the General's plan for a perfect world, a Hunter would have to go through him first. Colonel was defeated in battle, but died happy, thinking that the Repliforce's plans for the utopian space colony would finally be secure. He was wrong, but he couldn't possibly have known that at the time that he was defeated. His fighting will was used by Iris to fight Zero when she learned of her brother's death, but just as the Repliforce scientists had found, the differences were irreconcilable and her system frequently rejected Colonel's will from Iris' body.
