| The purpose of the ARC is to provide an institutional mechanism to encourage watershed-wide cooperation and mutual support to meet water quality permit requirements and to restore beneficial uses of the Rouge River to the area residents. | |||
| The ARC was founded in 2005 and is funded by membership dues from local governments and supported by grants. The ARC and its partners work cooperatively to meet water quality requirements mandated by the state's storm water permit and torestore beneficial uses, such as canoeing, fishing and other recreational activities, to the Rouge River. | |||
| The ARC helps its members support a variety of activities that benefit the Rouge River and meet the State of Michigan's permit requirements. Some of the benefits to members include: | |||
