MSNBC (Microsoft & National Broadcasting Corporation) is an American 24 hour news channel. Founded in 1996, MSNBC is one of America's leading news channels. It is also a leading news website as well. MSNBC calls itself "America's Newschannel" and boasts on how independent the channel is.
MSNBC Online
MSNBC Online consists of news and features using Microsoft Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player. Content is provided from the Washington Post and Newsweek Magazine. The news content on MSN (Microsoft Network) is powered by MSNBC. Websites for popular NBC News shows such as Dateline NBC, Today, and NBC Nightly News are kept on the MSNBC site.
MSNBC on Television
MSNBC has a variety of shows ranging from news reports to documentaries about every subject under the sun. Such shows are: Imus in the Morning, with New York City disc Jockey Don Imus and Hardball With Chris Matthews, with political reporter and author Chris Matthews. There is Weekend Magazine with Stone Philips, a series that shows reports from NBC's Dateline NBC, plus MSNBC Investigates with John Seigenthaler, a series that explores everything from botched plastic surgery to life in prison. Biographies are given very good treatment on Headliners & Legends, hosted by Matt Lauer. There are also talk shows hosted by Jerry Nachman (MSNBC's Editor in Chief) and Phil Donahue.
