Misplaced Pages

You can not just add any random information to articles. Such information as 2/3rd of Tehranians are Turkic speakers is highly disputed. I am from Tehran myself and I am 100% sure that Turkic speakers in Tehran are a minority. Regarding the Iranian Turks, I have tried to improved the article, and you keep trying to remove the information. This is the last warning, if you have problems with the info, try to discuss it in the talk pages, or you will be blocked for vandalism. -- - K a s h 00:05, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Sorry the data from that webpage is from 1987. I removed the nonsense from the article, e.g. that Parthians were Turkic. Your accusations are also against WP:CIVIL policy.
Tehran is going through the same process as Qazvin, Saveh and Hamedan went through in the last decades. Those cities were originally Persian speaking. But hard due to migration of Turkic speaking groups, Persian are in minority in those cities. However, I am not sure about 1/3. Websites are not great sources of information and I agree with Kash that we should remove the data from Iranian Turks. If you have a firm evidence such as from Iranian statistics bereau then bring it on. The date of the source is not so important as Tehran has more Turkic people now than in 1987. But it is important to have a very reliable source. 203.48.45.194 03:06, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Which one exactly says that outdated data should be used?!! -- - K a s h 00:15, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

It is not needed. Tehran's population was according to one source 1/3rd Turkic in 1987? How is that going to be useful to the reader? Also remember that the source says "Azarbaijani" not Turkic. So I am not sure where you are going with this. -- - K a s h 00:26, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Could be of some importance if it can be sourced well. Date is not so important. In fact, date can be helping argument a little bit since Tehran's Turkic speaking population usually grows faster due to immigration and other factors.
However, 2/3rd of population can hardly be true. My guess is similar to what Iranian population is, i.e 24%. Tehran has a big wave of migrations from other non-Turkic parts of the country where as other Turkified cities such as Hamedan and Qazvan are closer to Turkic speaking areas and also many Turkic tribes moved around those cities during Safavids.

Well, 24% is for whole of Iran not the city. The city has a 2/3 Turkish population, for now i have provided a 1/3 source let insert that, later we will find for the rest 1/3. Besides, Hamadan is not Turkified. It was originally Turkish. Togrol 09:14, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Hamedan was not Turkish at all. I am not sure what is your source. But I actually know original Hamedanis who are not Turkic and their accent was more like original Qazvinis, who were also not Turkic. And I know many Turkic Hamedanis who migrated form around Hamedan to the city of Hamedan and eventually to Tehran. Anyhow, Misplaced Pages is not a place for heresay, reliable sources please. 203.48.45.194 01:17, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
