Rebecca Miller, (formerly Chloe Jackson), is a recurring fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. She is played by Jade Sharif.
Life
Chloe was delivered by Mo Harris in her mother, Sonia Jackson's house on the 26th of October 2000. 15-year old Sonia didn't know that she was pregnant. Chloe was the result of an under-age fling between Sonia and Martin Fowler. The baby was subsequently given up for adoption.
A couple of years later, Sonia, who had delved into depression over the guilt of 'abandoning' her daughter, kidnapped the toddler (now re-named Rebecca) from her adoptive parents, Neil and Sue Miller. She was eventually handed over, and it was only a few more years before her next meeting with her birth mother.
In 2005, Neil and Sue were killed in a car crash, and Rebecca moved in with Sue's mother, Margaret. The news of the crash was read by Sonia in the newspaper, and she and Martin, who were now married, grew concerned of their daughter and decided to track her down to make sure that she was well. Posing as friends of the Millers, Margaret allowed the Fowlers into their home and it was only when they admitted who they really were that she told them to get out.
Pauline Fowler, Rebecca's biological, paternal grandmother demanded to see the little girl, and Margaret gave in after a few attempts, and allowed Pauline to meet with Rebecca. After some disagreements, Pauline decided that it was time to say farewell to Rebecca for good, and she and Margaret parted on good terms.
Pauline, however, accidently sent a birthday card to Rebecca that Sonia has planned on sending years ago (although she kept it instead), and Margaret turned up, asking if Martin and Sonia would like to go to Rebecca's birthday party. Since Sonia wasn't in, Pauline went instead, and she and Martin kept this visit secret from Sonia, who went ballistic when her husband admitted the truth. This added intense pressure on their already strained marriage.
As such, following Margaret's illness, she asked Pauline if she, Sonia and Martin could look after Rebecca for Christmas 2005, but her visit was postponed to February 2006 and then she went back to live with Margaret.Rebecca is now staying with Martin,to the devastation of Sonia.
