DYK for The Poppy Fields

Updated DYK queryOn 2 March 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article The Poppy Fields, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that The Poppy Fields never existed as a band, yet they had a hit song that reached number 24 on the UK charts? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Poppy Fields. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Disappointed

I'm disappointed that you won't be around to continue our collaborations on music producers. I enjoyed working with you on those. I hope you'll be back at some point; I certainly appreciated your efforts on those articles. 28bytes (talk) 16:45, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

This is life

What??? This is the first I'm hearing of this.
Strat: What???? Misplaced Pages is like a world. An editor is like a life. Retirement is like death. Sometimes in the real world people burn down your house or mug you, but you don't commit suicide over it!!!!! Why? Because the world is big and there are flowers and rivers and that kid who's trying to learn that card trick and salads and nice people and drawings and Auntie Polly who's a bit mad and tomorrow and the mango on your window sill and...you get the picture.
Misplaced Pages has stuff like that too because it's big. You don't jump of a bridge because someone mugged you! One day someone might AfD Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards. I spent an hour on it. Do I care? No. I don't. It's kind of a lemon anyhow so that's not a good example. But I won't care. I'll just go over there and help that kid with the card trick and forget all about it.
So... where am I going with this? Oh right. Don't jump off a bridge. Instead, toss a few trouts around and vent. Better still, not a trout, hit 'em with a moose liver. The 'ol "liver snap"! That'll learn 'em! Then get back to editing. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:20, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
Hey, I'm not even sure why this page is on my watchlist but Anna is spot-on and it's one of those few moments where Misplaced Pages:Don't-give-a-fuckism contains the key advice. I can see how Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Independent Publisher Book Award (2nd nomination) pisses you off or gives you the nagging feeling that you're the only non-idiot in the room. But like Anna, I don't see how you go from that to jumping off the bridge. Am I correct in saying that until February 27 (or something like that), you had no awareness of this article and therefore absolutely did not give a fuck? Why can't you come back to that blessed time? It'd be a lot more fun for you and for others who enjoyed working with you. Pichpich (talk) 21:55, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
