The Prime Minister of Sweden (Swedish: Sveriges statsminister) is the head of government in Sweden.
Prime Ministers of Sweden
Historical list of individuals. Several people have served multiple non-consecutive terms in office, which are listed here but not counted. Thus Göran Persson is the leader of the 43rd office since Louis de Geer. The term period is four years since 1994, as it had been 1920-1970, but during 1970-1991 it was three years. Note that Sweden's Social Democratic Party has only lost three elections since 1932 (1976, 1979 and 1991) and that Tage Erlander is with 23 consecutive years in office one of the longest tenured democratic heads of government in the world.
