Davide Lazzaretti (1834-1878) was the leader of the Giusdavidic Church in Italy (Monte Amiata). Killed in a clash with the Carabinieri (19th century).

There is a controversy as many key-lectures have been proposed.

On the dynamics between a charismatic leader and the cultic group (the Giusdavivic Church) Di Fiorino has quoted the story of David Lazzaretti, well studied by the psychiatric literature. The dramatic climax (the death of the Founder of the Giurisdavidic Church) is related to the suggestive power of the Messianic prophecy. After a wait of 3 days, David can not defer more than the fulfilment of the prophecy which announced, and, driven by the expectations it has aroused, goes in procession to meet his destiny.
