The Sam's Town Tour was a concert tour by Las Vegas, Nevada rock band The Killers that took place in 2006 and 2007 to support the band's second studio album, Sam's Town, which was released in October 2006, and the band's first compilation album, Sawdust, which was released in November 2007. The tour saw the band graduate to headlining both arena's and major festivals.
Synopsis
Warm up dates
Sam's Town was launched in the band's hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada on August 23, 2006, the band went on to play warm up shows in the US, England & Germany, this included a special show for BBC Radio 1 which was broadcast live from the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England. The band also played at the Virgin Festival in Baltimore.
Tour
Ted Sablay (Guitar, Keyboards) joined the band as an additional musician for this tour, while drum technician Rob Whited played additional percussion on certain songs. The first leg of the band's tour started in Los Angeles on October 6, through the end of 2006 the band toured North America & Europe. Due to high demand for the bands dates, arena tours were announced for the following year. In April 2007 they headlined Madison Square Garden in New York City during an extensive US tour. Prior to those dates The Killers travelled to Australia and New Zealand to play the touring Big Day Out festival. Towards the end of the tour the band visited South America for the first time, the tour ended on November 14, 2007 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia. In total The Killers played 161 shows spanning 5 different continents and 28 different countries.

The band headlined many festivals in Europe during the summer of 2007 including Greenfield, Nova Rock, Rock-A-Field, Hove, Rock for People, T in the Park, Oxegen, Sziget, V & Tennent's Vital; they also headlined the Saturday night of Glastonbury after declining the headline spot two years earlier. Frontman Brandon Flowers took to the Pyramid Stage in a gold suit, the eagerly anticipated performance however was marred by sound problems.
Stage setup
The band's stage setup included a 'Welcome' sign and a floral display decorating the back of Brandon Flowers' Piano, later on in the tour the keyboard stand was encrusted with Antlers.

Set List
The setlists were composed mainly of tracks from Sam's Town and popular tracks from debut album Hot Fuss. A number of covers were performed by the band among these were "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", "Rock 'n' Roll with Me" and "Shadowplay" which would later feature on their compilation album Sawdust, other tracks performed from Sawdust include "Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf" and "Tranquilize".
