:Because I felt that the link was too specific of an item. All the external links are either official sites or very general interest sites. I checked the edit history and many external links to specific topics were removed. As somebody pointed out to me before I had my account, Misplaced Pages ]. :I removed the UCIMC scandal off the main UCI page because the topic is already covered in the ] page. In fact, the addition that I removed was a direct copy and paste of what is in the UCIMC page. Duplicative content is generally frowned upon. Back in May, the section was moved to the UCIMC page by ]. Additionally, I removed this section once.
