Screenwriter Ranald MacDougall (Born: 10 March 1915, Schenectady, New York; Died: 12 December 1973, Los Angeles, California ), who worked on such films as The Naked Jungle (1954), The Unsuspected (1947) and Mildred Pierce (1945) also was a film director. He directed Joan Crawford in Queen Bee (1955).

He was married to Nanette Fabray (1957-1973). President of the Writers Guild of America, West (1971-1973).
