Carl Bildt is a Swedish politician. He was born on July 15, 1949 in Halmstad, Sweden.

He was the leader of the Moderate Party in Sweden from 1986 to 1999. During that time he was also the Prime Minister of Sweden from 1991 to 1994 (A post his great-great-grandfather Gillis Bildt had held from 1888 to 1889). Afterwards, he was active in the Balkans conflict from 1999 to 2001 serving as the as the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for the Balkans.
