== https://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:Persecution_of_Hindus#Request_for_comments ==

{{help me-helped}} I have requested comments from others at https://en.wikipedia.org/Talk:Persecution_of_Hindus#Request_for_comments. How do I ask others for help without being pulled up for canvassing (I've already read the matter at https://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment)? The mob killed many Hindus in and around the temple and so, I want that section restored.—] (]) 04:56, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
:] and notifications at community places, such as ], fall within the appropriate means of gathering community participation as explained at ]. Where you will draw problems in terms of canvassing would be to notify individuals at places where you know or even believe would benefit only one side of the discussion. I would strongly discourage you to notify people off-Misplaced Pages. You will also need to ensure that when you notify people that you do not present your own argument with out equally and fairly presenting the other side. Generally people avoid this by simply notifying people that a discussion regarding a certain topic is taking place and do not mention your own preference of the situation. Your RFC borderlines on this. ]] 05:28, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello Khabboos, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Your addition to ] has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without ] from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Misplaced Pages, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

*You can only copy/translate a ''small'' amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double ]s (") and a cited source. You can read about this at ] in the sections on "text". See also ], for how to cite sources here.
*Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information ''in your own words and structure'', in proper ]. Following the source's words too closely can create ], so it is not permitted here; see ]. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, .) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to ] information and to demonstrate that the content is not ].
*Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is ]. You may also want to review ].
*If ''you'' own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you ''may'' be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See ].
*In ''very rare cases'' (that is, for sources that are ] or ]), it ''may'' be possible to include greater portions of a source text. ''However'', please seek help at the ] before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources ''may not'' be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you ''do'' confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see ] for the steps you need to follow.
*Also note that Misplaced Pages articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Misplaced Pages project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in ].

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be ] from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!--Template:uw-copyright-new--> ] ] 19:02, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

You said at ] that you had copied citations from other articles. If you do this, you still have to check that the citations are valid. This means that the citations have to be:

Notification of discretionary sanctions: homeopathy and pseudoscience

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding pseudoscience and fringe science, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Misplaced Pages, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

This message is informational only and does not imply misconduct regarding your contributions to date.
