Information icon Hello and welcome to Misplaced Pages. When you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:46, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Misplaced Pages. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Elite: Dangerous, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 11:48, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Dangerous launch date

Have opened a thread about this at Talk:Elite:_Dangerous#Original_launch_date if you want to discuss. Not trying to diminish the fact that a launch date may have been promised and missed, but if Misplaced Pages is going to state it as a fact, we need to make sure it was actually the case. If all we can find are the two vague statements that "game was meant to be 'out' in March 2014" (whatever "out" means) and "oh look, it's June 2014 and now it's due out some time in 2014", and if no games journalist cared about the discrepancy enough to write it up, then presenting those facts without commentary is all we can do. --McGeddon (talk) 18:02, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Elite: Dangerous shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Two editors have told you on the talk page that a press source noting that "person said X" without quotemarks does not indicate that the person spoke those exact words. Please obtain consensus before attributing a particular series of words to somebody.--McGeddon (talk) 07:38, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for edit warring, as you did at Elite: Dangerous. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Lord Roem ~ (talk) 16:58, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
