DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT:

Picayune little details about why I used a twelve hour clock instead of military time or why I used American spelling (because I am an American!) and not British for color. Anything trivial along those lines will be ignored and probably erased from this page. If you don't like that I wrote "Such and such happened at 2:43PM", don't ask me why I did it. If it bothers you enough to leave me a message about it, then make the effort to change it to 14:43. If it doesn't bother you enough to change it, then it isn't worth the effort to leave me a message.

Save your efforts for things that are more important like whether or not an article should be deleted or "Hey, the article you wrote said that Sam's Bar & Grill owned by Celebrity A is in My Town, CA when I really thought it was in Your Town, CA. Can you help me figure out which it really is?"Postcard Cathy (talk) 06:14, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Sweat the big stuff, not the small stuff - bottom line. Postcard Cathy (talk) 06:36, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

C'mon, Cathy.

Don't let 'em get you down. Did you look at the AN thread? For the most part, you'll see experienced editors supporting you. (One even pointed out the edit that I placed on your talk page pointing out what Jenuk1985 said about changing Misplaced Pages.) Just shrug it off, it's all going to pass. Competence

If you cannot fit into the collegial, collaborative nature of Misplaced Pages, you will be shown the door. I don't know if this was to prove a point or not, but doing exactly the opposite of what I asked for - a simple explanation of your reasoning - shows extremely poor communication skills, at best. Explain yourself, or I will block you for disruption. Tan | 39 15:04, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

I've created an edit notice for this page, in the hope that this will help to resolve this issue. Uncle G (talk) 16:44, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of Peter Blake (writer)

I have nominated Peter Blake (writer), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Peter Blake (writer). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. TharsHammar and 01:25, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Cootershole

The article Cootershole has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non notable private track does not meet WP:NOTABILITY Google news search has no hits...

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RP459 (talk) 02:35, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Lawrence H. Cooke

Hello Cathy, you tagged back in April the above article with a "merge" tag. At that time, I did not understand your proposal because the tag, as it was used, seemed to propose the merger of this article with itself. By chance I discovered now that you probably added the tag to the article "Lawrence Cooke" to be merged with "Lawrence H. Cooke", so that the tag message read at Lawrence H. Cooke the same as at the doublet, which did not make any sense to me. (This might be an inherent fault of this tag.) However, you are absolutely right that there are two articles on the same subject, and I will merge them somehow. What actually happened was that on October 14, 2008, I started to complete the listing of Chief Judges, and "Lawrence H. Cooke" (red-linked, with middle initial) was already in the list. I searched for Lawrence Cooke (without initial, that is standard procedure, exacly to avoid this type of thing) and found nothing. Later, I created articles on all red-linked Chief Judges without again checking. Now I found that somebody created on October 28, 2008, an article on Lawrence Cooke (without middle initial) without checking if there was already a red link somewhere. Things like this are rare, but can happen... Kraxler (talk) 18:45, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Department of National Defence Colombia

Dear Cathy,

I'm probably note doing this correctly, so please go ahead and delete this entry as soon as you have read it.

I have only just stumbled across the note on my talk page from you concerning the deletion of the above article. I don't mind that it was deleted, because the purpose I made changes to it have been served anyway: to make it accessible to the almost 300 million people who write Defence rather than Defense. There is now a redirection to the main article and since it was written as Defense originally, who cares. As long as searching for it using British-type spelling will find it, that's all that matters. Forgive my bumbling attempts to modify stuff, but I need more spare time to become familiar with the most efficacious way to do it.

Speedy deletion nomination of Stuart Goldfarb

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stuart Goldfarb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. gsk 21:55, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2014

Hi Postcard Cathy. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Misplaced Pages, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Atlanta's Misplaced Pages:Meetup/Atlanta/Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. We are expanding the LGBT Atlanta, Georgia pages. This would be a tremendous help to Misplaced Pages and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --tdempsey (talk) 06:59, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Kutsher's Hotel may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 ""s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. St. Xavier's High School, Airoli

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of St. Xavier's High School, Airoli, and it appears to be very similar to another Misplaced Pages page: St xaviers high school airoli. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 08:07, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

before reverting a categorization make sure the school hasn't changed name. Or in cases like this, they are listed on List of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School alumni. Now we have more work to do. Postcard Cathy (talk)
The only exception I've seen to categories not needing to be verified in the article where they are included is when there is a clear subarticle relating to the main article, as in Ian McKellen and Ian McKellen, roles and awards. I note that the list you linked to has also been tagged for needing citations for over a year. You are welcome to start a discussion at Misplaced Pages talk:Categorization or another forum you consider appropriate if you feel the standard guideline does not apply in this case, but until then I don't believe it's appropriate to apply a category based solely on an article's being linked in a list article, especially when there is no sourcing provided at said list. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 14:17, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

If you mean that you are going to ignore my concerns and will not discuss this with me as recommended at WP:BRD, I would be forced to consider that disruptive editing. Please do not re-add the categories until you have a consensus in favor of doing so. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 14:27, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
